Are the Texas Rangers now the team to beat in the American League?

The Texas Rangers came up to Monday's non-waiver trade deadline but there were some questions about whether they were as good as their record indicated. After all with a run differential of +9, their Pythagorean expectation is a record of 53-52 as opposed to their current record of 62-44.

But after an aggressive series of moves heading into the trade deadline by general manager Jon Daniels, the Rangers are now positioned as perhaps the league favorite to get to the World Series.
