  1. Here are my projections for the NFL on CBS announcers for Christmas Eve Football:

    Dolphins/Bills - Eagle/Fouts
    Titans/Jaguars - Gumbel/Green
    Colts/Raiders - Nantz/Simms
    Chargers/Browns - Dedes/Wilcots
    Jets/Patriots - Harlon/Gannon

    1. Harlan & Gannon are in Houston on Saturday Night

      Delete
    2. CBS Sports, I believe, will be producing that Bengals/Texans' broadcast for NFL Network. It would make a lot of sense, considering the final "Monday Night Football" game is in Arlington, TX with the Lions/Cowboys' game the day after Christmas & Kevin Harlan is the lead voice of Westwood One's national radio broadcast.

      Delete
    3. Well actually no that's why he lives in KC so he will be in Houston Sat Night then fly home early Sun & do the SNF game

      Delete
    4. You are correct. Kevin Harlan will be switching roles next week with Kevin Kugler on Westwood One's national radio broadcast of the NFL. Harlan, James Lofton & Scott Kaplan will call Broncos/Chiefs Christmas Night on the radio side. Kugler, who usually calls "Sunday Night Football" with Lofton, will be calling the "Monday Night Football" finale instead of Harlan next week in Lions/Cowboys on Westwood One. Kugler, NFL Network's Kurt Warner & Laura Okmin have been commissioned to call that game on the radio side.

    5. It's confirmed that eage fouts will call the pats game

  2. How is the jets vs pats lead game at 1:00pm that game has nothing to do with the playoffs Miami vs Buffalo should have been no doubt lead game because both teams are fighting for 6th seed in the afc

    1. Patriots need a win to keep tabs on the #1 seed A win by the Patriots and a loss by the Raiders wraps the #1 seed up for New England

      Delete
    2. In week 17 , would the Patriots and Raiders be playing at the same time?

      Delete
    3. It's possible for that to happen but the NFL will make the final decision on 2016 Week 17 game times this Sunday Night or Monday Morning

      Delete
    4. The New York and Boston Markets make it the lead game.

      Delete
    5. well it's the pats... so of course it's the lead game

      Delete
  3. I am thinking many markets will shift to colts/raiders.

    1. That Colts/Raiders' game may be a 3:05P (CT) kickoff on Christmas Eve, but where I'm at in Chicago, it looks like that's "NFL on CBS" feature game this weekend.

  4. Here are my projections for the NFL on CBS announcers this week, since Harlan is doing the Saturday night game:

    Dolphins/Bills - Eagle/Fouts
    Titans/Jaguars - Gumbel/Green
    Colts/Raiders - Nantz/Simms
Chargers/Browns (the clunker game of the week) - Catalon, Tasker and Beurlein
    Jets/Patriots - Dedes/Wilcots

    1. Dedes and Wilcots will never call a jets pats game I think Gumbel and Green will be in Foxborogh Saturday

      Delete
    2. Dedes and Wilcots did two years ago call one of the Jets/Pats game that season so it has happened before. I think they will get this game, though Gumbel makes sense as well.

      Delete
    3. Only reason Dedes/Wilcots did Pats/Jets 2 years ago was with DH day before that Eagle and Harlan both worked.

      Delete
    4. Dedes and Wilcots makes the most sense for the Jets game, but since it is seen in a lot of markets, I would guess, Eagle or Gumbel, but this is not a marquee game since the Jets are long out of the playoffs and would make the most sense if Dedes and Wilcots called this one, even if they are not.

      Delete
    5. Well I disagree on that, based on the fact that 1) it's the primary game of the early slot and 2) it's still a pats game which out of all the teams CBS broadcast sunday has by far the largest fan base and 3) it has implications for the playoff (home field advantage throughout) and lastly 4) CBS loves the pats --> my prediction is Eagle/fouts as they are the no1 in the CBS hierachy (neglecting nantz/simms)

      Delete
    6. I think that even though it is the Pats with a large fan base, it is not the most important game that weekend and Dolphins/Bills is for the Dolphins to stay in playoff hunt, and the Bills to be knocked out of the playoff hunt with a loss. The Jets/Patriots game should not be the primary game, Patriots playing or not playing, as the Dolphins and Bills game should be the primary game with Eagle and Fouts calling it and Jets/Patriots should get Gumbel or Dedes calling that game, as it is not as much as an important game as the Dolphins game is. CBS should announce their teams the Sunday after the game as well, as FOX as they take too long with their announcer listings for their games.

      Delete
    7. Chris Fischer will be at the Titans/Jaguars game as the sideline reporter.

      Delete
  5. Cleveland Browns will be 0-16 this season

    ReplyDelete
  6. I think Ian Eagle and Dan Fouts will call the Jets at Patriots game.

    ReplyDelete
  7. Wonder why Eagle and Fouts would not do Miami and Buffalo as Miami could eliminate Buffalo with a win and continue to help their playoff chances in the process. This game should have Eagle or Gumbel calling it not Jets/Patriots, where the Jets are out of the running and Pats can clinch the number one seed, which is important, but not as an interesting rivalry game this year with the Jets not fighting for a wild card. Agree with the other poster that Dedes or even Gumbel should get this game to call.

    ReplyDelete
  8. I'm 95% sure that 1/4 of the markets that have Jets vs Patriots will switch to Colts vs Raiders or Dolphins vs Bills

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Colts raiders is in the late slot, so no need to shift anything there. And surely not too many markets will switch from the NYC Boston teams (especially with Brady) to Buffalo Miami^^

      Delete
  9. Eagle/Fouts on the main 1pm game (Eagle does Jets preseason). There is the outside chance that because the 1pm window has one dominant game only in means of distribution Gumbel/Green are on the Pats/Jets and Eagle/Fouts do (believe it or not) Chargers/Browns. I say that because Fouts still follows the Chargers and that would allow Eagle to do the Nets/Cavs NBA game for YES the night before.

    1. I don't think Scott's going there he usually doesn't do road games because of work in SD during the week unless it's West Coast games

    2. With the Titans still fighting for their playoff lives why isn't Dedes and Wilcots getting that game and the awful Catalon and two Steve's team getting the Chargers and Browns game? They deserve the bigger of the clunker games as the awful six team and Chargers and Browns has Catalon and the two Steve's written all over it.

      Delete
    3. It's cuz both teams are not big market teams that's why they get the garbage announcers unfortunately but that won't be the case next week if Houston & Tennessee are both tied in the standings after this week then they will get solid announcers next week

      Delete
    4. That's probably going to be the SNF on NBC flex game .... HOU and TEN for AFC South Championship...it's not guaranteed but certainly the most likely of the games to get flexed to New Year's Night

      Delete
    5. I take that back, if GB beats Minnesota on Saturday, then GB @ DET will be the SNF game, it would be for the NFL North title, and I am sure NBC would rather show that than HOU @ TEN though I would prefer that one.

      Delete
    6. They will likely show the Lions vs Packers since they're both better market teams than Houston & Tennessee they will both likely get a 4:25 game on CBS

      Delete
    7. I tend to agree. NFL Week #17 is the only Sunday that CBS Sports & FOX Sports have doubleheaders on their schedule. I wouldn't be shocked if Texans/Titans headlines the 2nd half of the "NFL on CBS" twinbill next Sunday, January 1. I could also picture Ravens/Bengals & Browns/Steelers possibly getting moved from Noon to 3:25P (CT) in addition to Texans/Titans. There's no doubt NBC Sports is eyeing Packers/Lions as a likely "Sunday Night Football" finale, especially if the NFC North is still up for grabs. We shall see.

      Delete
    8. The AFC North games will probably be moved to 4:25 only if Baltimore wins on Christmas Day over the Steelers. If PIT wins the AFC North that day, I think the times for all AFC games for Week 17 will stay as is except for perhaps HOU/TEN, only if that division is on the line. Again, I wouldn't mind seeing a SNF game from Nashville, and while DET/GB would be more enticing for NBC, in 2014 they actually chose CIN @ PIT for the finale instead of DET @ GB, though all 4 teams had already clinched playoff berths and were playing simply for division crowns and seeding. Ironically, the Steelers win that night gave them the division, which meant they played Baltimore and NBC came back to Pittsburgh the following Saturday.

  15. Out of curiosity is the Texans - Bengals game being shown on local free-to-air stations or simply on NFL Network?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. It's my understanding that NFL games have to be made locally available in these markets, especially these games on NFL Network such as Bengals/Texans on Christmas Eve & Ravens/Steelers on Christmas Day & the "Monday Night Football" finale with Lions/Cowboys on ESPN. I'm reasonably sure about this.

  18. I've corrected my error above and both this page and both the CBS and TNF schedules are up to date now.

Just so everybody is aware, I read the comments pretty infrequently so no matter how many times you post something, in caps or what have you, I likely won't see it. If/when I mistake as I am wont to do unfortunately (this isn't the only thing I do), it is much easier if people tweet at me, like somebody did this morning, or comment on the Facebook page where I get notifications when people do so. Thanks.
