  1. This much appears certain. Spero Dedes & Solomon Wilcots have already been commissioned to call Bears/Lions in Detroit...On "NFL on CBS". Some very interesting matchups on their schedule.

    1. At least Greg and Trent are the next best thing. My Niners only appear twice or thrice as season on CBS,so it's just that they would get a top three announcing crew for their games even though they can't get Joe Buck or Kevin Burkhardt every time they play on their 'home' network(Fox).Heck, the resurgent Raiders still got bottom of the barrel announcers for decent matchups as late as midseason:Andrew Catalon and the Steves called their nail-biting overtime road win over a cinderella Bucs team that's suddenly in the Falcons' rear-view mirror,in addition to Tom McCarthy calling the week 5 home win over the Chargers.Of course,Chris Myers(who called a decent chunk of Niner games the past couple of seasons)called the Raider win in the Big Easy(only Raider appearance on Fox this season barring a trip to SBLI),but that was of minimal consequence as it was a Kickoff game.

  3. Houston at Indy is the most important game of the week. I know Nantz has to be up the Pats or Steelers behind but you would think it get the number two team. CBS knows that Elway and Manning retired in Denver and the Titans might as well be in Moscow?

    1. Nah; Buffalo-Pittsburgh is bigger. Everybody knows the AFC South again is a joke and no one would be making the playoffs if the league was simply split into two conferences and not into divisions. No neutral fan cares about teams that aren't going to do squat come playoff time. We already had to have the Texans shoved down our throats last week just because of Aaron Rodgers- enough.

  4. KASA in Albuquerque is a Fox station so not sure why it's listed here. KRQE (CBS) here shows Broncos games..

  7. I would be surprised if Andrew Catalon, Steve Beuerlein, and Steve Tasker announced Jets-49ers, although it looks like that may be the case, considering that this crew rarely announces Jets games, probably due to the market size of New York. They did announce two Jets games at the end of 2014 though, when the Jets had a horrid record entering both games.

  9. I disagree with most of them except for Steelers-Bills, I think the announcer assignments should have been:

    Texans-Colts: Eagle/Fouts
    Broncos-Titans: Gumbel/Green
    Bears-Lions: Harlan/Gannon
    Bengals-Browns: Dedes/Wilcots

    Jets-49ers: Catalon/the Steves

  10. Who did Gumbel and Green piss off to get stuck with jets/49ers this weekend?

    1. That's a head scratcher in my opinion. "NFL on CBS" could've easily sent Greg Gumbel, Trent Green & Jamie Erdahl to Bears/Lions in Detroit, especially when considering the game means something to the NFC North leaders from Motown. I found out late last week that Spero Dedes & Solomon Wilcots got the Bears/Lions' assignment via Wilcots' Twitter.

  11. Good Lord...whoever assigned these games is terrible. What I would've done:

    1:00
Steelers vs. Bills (Ian Eagle, Dan Fouts, Evan Washburn)
Bengals vs. Browns (Kevin Harlan, Trent Green)
Texans vs. Colts (Greg Gumbel, Trent Green, Jamie Erdahl)
Broncos vs. Titans (Jim Nantz, Phil Simms, Tracy Wolfson)
Bears vs. Lions (Spero Dedes, Solomon Wilcots)

    4:05
Jets vs. 49ers (Andrew Catalon, Steve Beuerlein, Steve Tasker)

    1. I was hoping for Catalon and Steves for Jets/Niners. I'm stunned Gumbel and Green have that game. 3-9 vs 1-11 come on! As one of the top three CBS teams, they should have a game with at least a little meaning.

    2. Gumbel and Green are trending downwards- no longer #2 broadcast team; Green is just plain boring to listen to (then again the CBS crews generally are dull and dry generally speaking). Hey they should be fortunate they get to be heard by far more of the country than what it should be: because of these dumb blackout rules, there are markets that aren't any where near NY or SF and they get what one game on CBS? Niners-Jets??? Uggh!

      Delete
    3. I was wondering as well if Andrew Catalon's crew would call Jets-49ers as well, but I can understand why they would call Bengals-Browns, since it is a similar game in terms of lack of importance for both teams, at least in terms of playoff hopes. Cross-flexing might change week 17's schedule, but I think there is a good chance Andrew Catalon's crew announces Bills-Jets since almost every other AFC game features one team still alive in the playoff race or a marquee team that Andrew Catalon's crew usually does not cover like the Steelers or Patriots.

  12. to the person above Gumbel & Green to begin with aren't even team #2 on CBS that's Eagle & Fouts ever since Greg & Trent were put together

  14. As a Jets fan in what has been a bad season, a worse punishment would have been listening to Catalon and the two Steve's call the Jets/Niners game yesterday. I like the Gumbel and Green team and think they are a good team. How CBS keeps the Catalon and two Steve's team is beyond me. Catalon and Tasker or Catalon and Beurlein make sense but a three man booth for the six team makes no sense. Would love to see a three man booth with Nantz and Simms as that team needs someone with some personality on that team in the booth with them. Boomer Esiason or Peyton Manning would make a lot of sense there.
