I must say, it was really disappointing not to see William Byron competing for the champion after blowing an engine at Phoenix. There is no question that Byron was the best driver all season long, despite being a rookie, and while luck is important in this sport, especially in this championship system, it doesn't feel right that the season's top driver is not in the mix for the title.
This final four, if you will, does feature a quartet of veterans in the Camping World Truck Series in Matt Crafton, Johnny Sauter and Timothy Peters and a young rookie in Christopher Bell. You could make a case for all of those guys to win the title after they got to this point but to me, there is a clear favorite.
And that favorite is Sauter. Sauter has not finished outside the top ten in four months and had a tremendous start to the previous round by winning the first two races. There is no question in my mind that he has the most momentum coming into this race and I think he is a great position to finally get his first Truck Series title.
