2016 College Football Predictions: Week 6

(AP Photo)
Yet again in college football, we saw some truly wild finishes this past week. I mean, that Tennessee-Georgia finish was absolutely bonkers but we also had some tremendous ballgames in Clemson, Ann Arbor, Tallahassee, Ames, Bloomington, Fort Worth and elsewhere. As we enter Week 6 of this college football season, will the madness continue? Here are my picks.

Wednesday, October 5th
Georgia Southern vs. Arkansas State - ESPN2, 8:00
Pick: Georgia Southern

Thursday, October 6th
Western Kentucky vs. Louisiana Tech - CBS Sports Network, 8:00
Pick: Western Kentucky

Temple vs. Memphis - ESPN, 8:00
The Owls are good enough defensively to hang around but the Tigers are too strong offensively to be derailed here.
Pick: Memphis

Friday, October 7th
3 Clemson vs. Boston College - ESPN, 7:30
Where is Admiral Ackbar when you need him? Clemson should roll but I think it may be closer than the experts think.
Pick: Clemson

Tulane vs. UCF - ESPNU, 8:00
Pick: UCF

SMU vs. Tulsa - ESPN2, 8:00
Pick: Tulsa

UMass vs. Old Dominion - 8:00
Pick: Old Dominion

19 Boise State vs. New Mexico - CBS Sports Network, 9:00
Pick: Boise State

Saturday, October 8th
Cincinnati vs. UConn - CBS Sports Network, 11:30 am
Pick: UConn

Southern Miss vs. UTSA - American Sports Network, 12:00
Pick: Southern Miss

Texas vs. 20 Oklahoma - Dallas - FS1, 12:00
Considering their play since that big win against Notre Dame, it looks like Texas is back to square one. They got the huge win a year ago in this game but I just don't see the defensive ability to keep the Sooners at bay.
Pick: Oklahoma

East Carolina vs. South Florida - ESPNEWS, 12:00
Pick: South Florida

Auburn vs. Mississippi State - ESPN, 12:00
Pick: Mississippi State

Iowa vs. Minnesota - ESPN2, 12:00
In which the winner will get the Floyd of Rosedale, I like the Golden Gophers here. Iowa just keeps on living each game on the edge and I think they will get burned.
Pick: Minnesota

TCU vs. Kansas - ESPNU, 12:00
Pick: TCU

Notre Dame vs. NC State - ABC, 12:00
This would still be a big win for the Wolfpack and I think they will get it. After all, I still have absolutely no confidence in the Notre Dame defense and NC State has had some success offensively this season.
Pick: NC State

Maryland vs. Penn State - BTN, 12:00
Pick: Maryland

Georgia Tech vs. Pittsburgh - ACC Network, 12:30
Pick: Pittsburgh

Bowling Green vs. Ohio - ESPN3, 2:00
Pick: Ohio

6 Houston vs. Navy - CBS Sports Network, 3:00
Pick: Houston

Miami (OH) vs. Akron - ESPN3, 3:00
Pick: Akron

Toledo vs. Eastern Michigan - BCSN, 3:00
Pick: Toledo

Army vs. Duke - ACC Network (FSN), 3:30
Pick: Duke

Purdue vs. Illinois - BTN, 3:30
Pick: Illinois

9 Tennessee vs. 8 Texas A&M - CBS, 3:30
Now this is a football game. The Vols have been involved in some thrillers but it seems like almost every game with them comes down to some late shenanigans. I think A&M is more of a complete club and will get the win.
Pick: Texas A&M

BYU vs. Michigan State - ABC/ESPN2, 3:30
The Spartans suffered a big-league letdown to the Hoosiers but back at home, even against a feisty BYU team, they'll get back on track.
Pick: Michigan State

25 Virginia Tech vs. 17 North Carolina - ABC/ESPN2, 3:30
After their last-second hang-on in Tallahassee, this'll be a fun one in Chapel Hill. That said, Virginia Tech hasn't beaten anybody thus far.
Pick: North Carolina

Kent State vs. Buffalo - ESPN3, 3:30
Pick: Buffalo

Air Force vs. Wyoming - Root Sports, 3:30
Pick: Air Force

Indiana vs. 2 Ohio State - ESPN, 3:30
Pick: Ohio State

Ball State vs. Central Michigan - American Sports Network, 3:30
Pick: Central Michigan

Iowa State vs. Oklahoma State - ESPNU, 3:30
Pick: Oklahoma State

Texas State vs. Georgia State - ESPN3, 3:30
Pick: Georgia State

Vanderbilt vs. Kentucky - SEC Network, 4:00
Pick: Vanderbilt

21 Colorado vs. USC - Pac-12 Networks, 4:00
The Trojans really shouldn't lose this game but hey, the Buffs are a legitimately good team. I think this will come down to the final possession with USC coming out on top at the end.
Pick: USC

Hawaii vs. San Jose State - Oceanic Sports, 4:30
Pick: Hawaii

Northern Illinois vs. Western Michigan - CBS Sports Network, 6:30
Pick: Western Michigan

4 Michigan vs. Rutgers - ESPN2, 7:00
Pick: Michigan

1 Alabama vs. 16 Arkansas - ESPN, 7:00
The Hogs have kept it close against Alabama the past couple of years and if they do that this Saturday evening, they'll have a shot. But Fayetteville will not be Upset City this week.
Pick: Alabama

Fresno State vs. Nevada - ESPN3, 7:00
Pick: Nevada

Idaho vs. Louisiana-Monroe - ESPN3, 7:00
Pick: Louisiana-Monroe

Texas Tech vs. Kansas State - ESPNU, 7:00
Pick: Kansas State

Syracuse vs. Wake Forest - ACC Network (FSN), 7:00
Wake Forest may actually be good! Wake Forest! They control the clock and play good defense and that is how you stop a Dino Babers offense.
Pick: Wake Forest

Marshall vs. North Texas - American Sports Network, 7:00
Pick: Marshall

5 Washington vs. Oregon - Fox, 7:30
Considering they just got blasted by Washington State, the Ducks are not in great shape. They could use an upset here and Washington may be vulnerable in a trap game but with how much they just beat the ass of Stanford, give me the Huskies.
Pick: Washington

23 Florida State vs. 10 Miami - ABC, 8:00
The Seminoles have not lost to the U since 2009 but their defense has just been so hideous this season, give me Brad Kaaya and the Hurricanes to win it here at "home."
Pick: Miami

FIU vs. UTEP - 8:00
Pick: UTEP

California vs. Oregon State - Pac-12 Networks, 9:00
Pick: California

Arizona vs. 24 Utah - FS1, 10:00
Pick: Utah

Utah State vs. Colorado State - CBS Sports Network, 10:00
Pick: Utah State

UCLA vs. Arizona State - ESPN2, 10:30
Both teams can throw up plenty of points but under the lights, even on the road, I have more faith in the defense for UCLA.
Pick: UCLA

Washington State vs. 15 Stanford - ESPN, 10:30
The Cougars just beat down Oregon at home but there's a difference between that and going on the road to the Farm.
Pick: Stanford

UNLV vs. San Diego State - ESPNU, 10:30
Pick: San Diego State

Sunday, October 9th
Charlotte vs. Florida Atlantic - cusa.tv, 12:00
Pick: Florida Atlantic

Georgia vs. South Carolina - SEC Network, 2:30
Boy, could UGA use a win or what?
Pick: Georgia

    1. Well how I worded it is correct, the Seminoles have defeated the Hurricanes every year since 2009 but I will clarify it above.
