Thursday, September 29th
UConn vs. 6 Houston - ESPN, 8:00
Pick: Houston
Kansas vs. Texas Tech - FS1, 8:30
Pick: Texas Tech
Friday, September 30th
7 Stanford vs. 10 Washington - ESPN, 9:00
Here's a fun one for you on a Friday night as this should decide the Pac-12 North. Going on the road to Husky Stadium is tough enough as is but the Cardinal will be without both of their starting cornerbacks. Without a bill of full health, I think it will be tough for Stanford to pull this one out.
Pick: Washington
Toledo vs. BYU - ESPN2, 10:15
The Cougars desperately need a win here and they will get it but they better not sleep on the Rockets.
Pick: BYU
Saturday, October 1st
23 Florida vs. Vanderbilt - SEC Network, 12:00
Pick: Florida
Alcorn State vs. 20 Arkansas - SEC Network, 12:00
Pick: Arkansas
14 Miami vs. Georgia Tech - ESPN2, 12:00
Pick: Miami
22 Texas vs. Oklahoma State - ABC, 12:00
The final score was a little deceptive in the Baylor-Oklahoma State contest because the Cowboys could very well have won that game. I think they will win this week considering Texas could not stop anybody at this point.
Pick: Oklahoma State
13 Baylor vs. Iowa State - FS1, 12:00
Pick: Baylor
Rutgers vs. 2 Ohio State - BTN, 12:00
Pick: Ohio State
UCF vs. East Carolina - CBS Sports Network, 12:00
Pick: East Carolina
Northwestern vs. Iowa - ESPNU, 12:00
Iowa just struggled with Rutgers so there's that.
Pick: Iowa
Notre Dame vs. Syracuse - East Rutherford, NJ - ESPN, 12:00
The Fighting Irish are a complete mess and their defense couldn't stop my ex-wife at this point. They should be able to defeat the Orange in the Meadowlands but after losing to Duke, I can't rule anything out.
Pick: Notre Dame
SMU vs. Temple - ESPNEWS, 12:00
Pick: Temple
Georgia State vs. Appalachian State - American Sports Network, 12:00
Pick: Appalachian State
Virginia vs. Duke - ACC Network, 12:30
Pick: Duke
Buffalo vs. Boston College - ESPN3, 1:00
Pick: Boston College
Ohio vs. Miami (OH) - BCSN2, 2:30
Pick: Miami (OH)
Oregon State vs. Colorado - Pac-12 Networks, 2:30
The Buffs got a huge road win against Oregon on Saturday night and they are looking pretty good at the moment. They'll take care of business against the Beavers.
Pick: Colorado
Eastern Michigan vs. Bowling Green - ESPN3, 3:00
Pick: Eastern Michigan
Kansas State vs. West Virginia - ESPNU, 3:30
I'm a little surprised that West Virginia is not ranked at this point but they better be ready for the Wildcats that have looked very good defensively. That said, the K-State offense isn't that strong and they haven't played anybody yet. Give me the Mountaineers.
Pick: West Virginia
8 Wisconsin vs. 4 Michigan - ABC, 3:30
The Badgers looked really good in taking out Michigan State in East Lansing but even then. they weren't as impressive as Michigan was in demolishing Penn State. In the Big House, give me the Wolverines.
Pick: Michigan
Illinois vs. 15 Nebraska - ESPN2, 3:30
Pick: Nebraska
11 Tennessee vs. 25 Georgia - CBS, 3:30
Just when I was beginning to lose faith in the Vols, they roar back against Florida and win going away. Given that Georgia has now struggled against Nicholls and Missouri and gotten flattened by Ole Miss, I'm not that confident for them at home.
Pick: Tennessee
Wake Forest vs. NC State - ACC Network (FSN), 3:30
Pick: NC State
North Carolina vs. 12 Florida State - ESPN, 3:30
Getting crushed in Louisville may have been a fluke for Florida State but the offense of the Tar Heels will keep them in any game (as we saw last week against Pitt). But Dalvin Cook will filet their defense and that'll power FSU this Saturday afternoon.
Pick: Florida State
Minnesota vs. Penn State - BTN, 3:30
Through four games, Penn State has looked underwhelming losses to Pittsburgh and Michigan and a tight win over Temple. I don't see that changing against Minnesota.
Pick: Minnesota
Purdue vs. Maryland - BTN, 3:30
Pick: Maryland
Louisiana-Monroe vs. Auburn - SEC Network, 3:30
Pick: Auburn
Navy vs. Air Force - CBS Sports Network, 3:30
The race for the Commander-in-Chiefs trophy looks to be very competitive this year so this game is even more important. The Midshipmen have not looked as strong this year thus far and I think at home, the Falcons will cranke it out.
Pick: Air Force
Akron vs. Kent State - ESPN3, 3:30
Pick: Akron
Northern Illinois vs. Ball State - American Sports Network, 3:30
Pick: Ball State
Tulane vs. UMass - American Sports Network, 3:30
Pick: Tulane
San Jose State vs. New Mexico - Root Sports, 4:00
Pick: New Mexico
9 Texas A&M vs. South Carolina - SEC Network, 4:00
Pick: Texas A&M
Troy vs. Idaho - ESPN3, 5:00
Pick: Troy
Oklahoma vs. 21 TCU - Fox, 5:00
Oklahoma is favored here on the road but they have been greatly disappointing thus far. I just don't see them with their Swiss cheese defense going to Fort Worth and taking out the Horned Frogs.
Pick: TCU
Old Dominion vs. Charlotte - 6:00
Pick: Old Dominion
18 Utah vs. California - Pac-12 Networks, 6:00
When it comes to scoring defense, Cal is ranked 123rd in the country. 123rd! Meanwhile, the Utes have looked pretty strong defensively and I think strong enough to get a big road victory.
Pick: Utah
Memphis vs. 16 Ole Miss - ESPN2, 7:00
After smashing Georgia, I think it is safe to say that Ole Miss rebounded well after the Alabama collapse. I like them here against a sneaky Memphis squad.
Pick: Ole Miss
Kentucky vs. 1 Alabama - ESPN, 7:00
Haha, nice try.
Pick: Alabama
South Florida vs. Cincinnati - ESPNU, 7:00
Pick: South Florida
Western Michigan vs. Central Michigan - CBS Sports Network, 7:00
The directionals are looking pretty good this year so this should be a key MAC contest. I do think that the Broncos are the superior club, however.
Pick: Western Michigan
Florida Atlantic vs. FIU - beIN Sports, 7:00
Pick: Florida Atlantic
UTEP vs. Louisiana Tech - American Sports Network, 7:00
Pick: Louisiana Tech
Middle Tennessee vs. North Texas - Campus Insiders, 7:00
Pick: Middle Tennessee
Houston Baptist vs. Western Kentucky - 7:00
Pick: Western Kentucky
Marshall vs. Pittsburgh - ACC Network (FSN), 7:30
Pick: Pittsburgh
Missouri vs. LSU - SEC Network, 7:30
With Ed Orgeron leading the show after the canning of Les Miles, look for the (LSU) Tigers to roll here.
Pick: LSU
Incarnate Word vs. Texas State - KEYE/KMYS/ESPN3, 7:30
Pick: Texas State
3 Louisville vs. 5 Clemson - ABC, 8:00
Once Louisville throttled Florida State on September 17th, they immediately jumped up the rankings and into the heart of Playoff talk. But to get there, they're going to have to put up a strong showing in Death Valley. Clemson has been good thus far but not as good as one year ago and I think they could be vulnerable to the football stylings of Lamar Jackson.
Pick: Louisville
17 Michigan State vs. Indiana - BTN, 8:00
After getting spanked by the Badgers, look for the Spartans to bounce back in Bloomington.
Pick: Michigan State
19 San Diego State vs. South Alabama - ESPNEWS, 8:00
Pick: San Diego State
Louisiana-Lafayette vs. New Mexico State - ESPN3, 8:00
Pick: Louisiana-Lafayette
Arizona State vs. USC - Fox, 8:30
When you are already talking about firing the coach four games into his first season, things are not looking good and they aren't for the Trojans right now.
Pick: Arizona State
Oregon vs. Washington State - Pac-12 Networks, 9:30
Now that they've dropped two in a row, clearly this Ducks team is not at the level of past Ducks teams. The Cougars have not been as good as I thought (losing to Eastern Washington has that effect) but you never know what Mike Leach will put out of his bag of tricks. We will see plenty of offense here and I think that gives the slight advantage to the Ducks.
Pick: Oregon
Utah State vs. 24 Boise State - ESPN2, 10:!5
Pick: Boise State
Wyoming vs. Colorado State - ESPNU, 10:15
Pick: Colorado State
Fresno State vs. UNLV - CBS Sports Network, 10:30
Pick: UNLV
Arizona vs. UCLA - ESPN, 10:30
Pick: UCLA
Nevada vs. Hawaii - Oceanic Sports, 11:59
Pick: Nevada
