2016 NFL on CBS Schedule

The 2016 NFL season will be the 57th season of NFL coverage on what we once referred to as the Columbia Broadcasting System. And combined with their piece of Thursday Night Football, CBS will be carrying more professional football than any other network.

    3. Don't count out Brad Nessler now that he's with CBS succeeding Verne Lundquist once he hangs it up for SEC on CBS Nessler should do a NFL game or 2 possibly

      Delete
    4. Well the initial report said that Nessler will be doing NFL games until he replaces Verne so I could see him sliding into the middle of their crews and bumping somebody down like Catalon.

    5. It reminds me that Tirico's contract with ESPN expired wasn't that long ago.

    6. I would think Nessler would do a few games since he's gonna be calling College Football games as well so I don't expect any changes I expect Nessler to be No. 7 announcer

    7. Aside from Brad Nessler joining the NFL on CBS, I don't think CBS will make any other changes if at all.

I am not 100% sure about this, but I read a Washington Post article about the flex scheduling for Sunday Night Football for the rest of this season, and it said that the NFL decided to flex out Patriots-Jets in week 12 for Chiefs-Broncos, so that might change CBS's announcer assignments in week 12.

    1. I dont think CBS would put their top 2 crews at 4 25. They'd give Ian the big game at 1, and Gumbel (prob) the minor 4 25 game

      Delete
    2. It's possible but unlikely. Besides, the last time when the #2 crew worked the late doubleheader game was 2011 when Greg Gumbel and Dan Dierdorf called the Patriots Eagles game because Nantz and Simms were off after calling the Thanksgiving week game between Miami and Dalls though Gumbel and Dierdorf called the Jaguars Texans 4:15 ET game in 2010 when Nantz and Simms where calling the Titans Colts game in week 17 in the same start time frame and I think 2010 is probably the only year where all crews from Fox and CBS worked at least one late doubleheader game.
