2016 NCAA Tournament Predictions: National Championship

Well here we are, the field of 68 has now become a field of two and tomorrow night, there will be only one. Either North Carolina or Villanova will be cutting down the nets after the National Championship Game tomorrow night as the victors of the 2016 NCAA Tournament. So when the confetti will be coming down, who will be standing alone as champions? Here are my predictions.

1 North Carolina vs. 2 Villanova - TBS/TNT/truTV, 9:00
North Carolina Tar Heels (2015 - Pres)Villanova Wildcats (2004 - Pres)
With how both teams played in the Final Four on Saturday night, they both made legitimate cases as to why they deserve to be here. North Carolina kept the surprising Syracuse Orange at bay in the first half before pulling away while the Wildcats put together as dominant of a performance as I can remember in the NCAA Tournament when they destroyed the Oklahoma Sooners by 44. Let's just say if they shoot over 71% from the field on Monday night, they will be the next champions.

And let's be honest, they will probably never play that well ever again and they certainly won't on Monday night. But I do think they will be the champions come Monday night. Nobody is playing than them right now and even as they aren't as deep in the frontcourt as the Tar Heels are, their guard play, their perimeter shooting and their unique defensive schemes are going to make the difference.
