Doc Rivers invokes Richard Nixon regarding Blake Griffin

(Mark J. Terrill/AP)
Blake Griffin has been in the news this past week after he broke his right hand in a fight with the team's assistant equipment manager. He'll be out for at least a month and this development has lead to murmurs as to whether the team should trade him. It's really not a great situation for a team ranked fourth in the Western Conference but coach/personnel czar Doc Rivers seems willing to forgive. And he used an interesting example to help his case.

Considering that Nixon was the first president from the Golden State, and from Southern California nonetheless, good job by Rivers there.
