On Wednesday evening, the Glendale city council, in a 5-2 vote, decided to end the Arizona Coyotes' lease at Gila River Arena, leaving the franchise's future in doubt. This decision came two years after the city council approved a 15-year, $225 million lease agreement in which the city pays the organization $15 million a year to use the arena.

But once again, the future of the organization seems tenuous at best.

The Open Championship is headed to NBC Sports

Thanks to their stunning loss of the U.S. Open to Fox Sports, 2015 is the first year that NBC is without major golf since 1994. However, that will change come 2017 2016 as NBC Sports will become the official broadcaster of the Open Championship, or the British Open. It will be a 12-year contract and NBC will be succeeding ESPN, who has been covering the Open exclusively since 2010 when it took over weekend coverage from ABC (who had been covering it since 1962).
