Who are the four best players for each MLB franchise?

As part of the buildup for the 2015 MLB All-Star Game, being held in Cincinnati for the first time since the legendary Riverfront Stadium hosted the 1988 Midsummer Classic, MLB has announced something called the Franchise Four. It allows fans to vote for the four greatest players in the history of each franchise (as well as the greatest Negro Leaguers, the greatest MLB pioneers and the greatest living players). Given that, I have decided to go off the list of possible choices for every and every MLB team and pick the four greatest players in the histories of each team. Let's take a look.

Fresh off a strong sixth-place finish on Saturday night in Texas in which he was leading the race late, Jamie McMurray was at the Goodyear tire test today at Kentucky Speedway and he tweeted a couple of pictures of a new electronic dashboard that could be coming to Sprint Cup in near future. Let's take a look.

Lou Holtz is out at ESPN

(Grand Rapids Press)
After a decade as a studio analyst for ESPN, Lou Holtz and the network have parted ways as reported by SI's Richard Deitsch. Holtz, who joined ESPN after retiring from South Carolina in 2004, had said a year ago that the 2014 season was likely to be his last and now it appears that he was correct. His departure now gives the appearance that there will be a sorely needed revamp of ESPN's main college football studio program after now he and host Rece Davis (who is headed to College GameDay) are now gone.

Inside Line: Three drivers have had top tens in every race

Inside Line is a blogging project for my COMM-326 Sports Journalism course

For the first time in many years, a driver has finished in the top ten for the first seven races of the Sprint Cup season. In fact, three drivers have done it this year in Kevin Harvick, Joey Logano and Martin Truex Jr. and unsurprisingly, those three are the top three drivers in points. Which of these drivers have the best chance to get to the all-time record of 11 top tens to start the season (Morgan Shepherd in 1990)?

Inside Line: What does the future hold for Erik Jones?

Inside Line is a blogging project for my COMM-326 Sports Journalism course

Ever since Erik Jones set the record for the youngest driver ever to win in one of NASCAR's top series when he won at Phoenix in 2013 at the age of 17, he has seemed poised to quickly become a star in the sport. And he also only supported that belief as he won three truck races last season in only 12 races and then on Friday night, he won his first Xfinity race as he led a race high 79 laps and outdueled Brad Keselowski and Dale Earnhardt Jr. Therefore, Joe Gibbs, who owned the car that Jones raced on Friday night at Texas, has certainly caught notice.

It will be the first release by DMi Games, who acquired the rights to the series from Eutechnyx back in January and will cost only $20 exclusively at GameStop as well as Xbox Live, PlayStation Network and Steam.
