The 2015 MLB Postseason commences on Tuesday night and continues on Wednesday with the Wild Card games. It's the one-game playoff to decide who will advance to the Division Series. Who will survive and advance? Here are my picks.
Tuesday, October 6th Houston Astros vs. New York Yankees - ESPN, 8:00
The Yankees certainly did not want to see Astros ace Dallas Kuechel as he has been spectacular this season, and has dominated the Yanks to boot, but he is also not as good on the road as he is at home. However, the New York offense has not been that stout of late and that could pose an issue in a do-or-die contest. Pick: Astros
Wednesday, October 7th Chicago Cubs vs. Pittsburgh Pirates - TBS, 8:00
Jake Arrieta hasn't just been great this season, and particularly so down the stretch, he has been all-time great down the stretch. Arrieta also has been brilliant all season long against the Pirates. However, he has never pitched in the postseason before and this Pittsburgh club is not only playoff-tested, they are also the better team from top to bottom. And Gerritt Cole is pretty good in his own right. Pick: Cubs
