2015 College Football Predictions: Week 5

(AP)
As the Pac-12 continues to be all over the place, the Big 12 sees their fair share of shootouts and as the ACC continues to fail to impress, we have arrived to Week 5. Will the shenanigans continue? Here are this week's picks.

Thursday, October 1st
Miami (FL) vs. Cincinnati - ESPN, 7:30
Should get no shortage of offense here but I think the Canes' superior quarterback situation will push them toward the win.
Pick: Miami

Friday, October 2nd
Temple vs. Charlotte - CBSSN, 7:00
Pick: Temple

Memphis vs. South Florida - ESPN2, 7:00
Pick: Memphis

Connecticut vs. BYU - ESPN2, 10:15
Pick: BYU

Saturday, October 3rd
23 West Virginia vs. 15 Oklahoma - FS1, 12:00
Both teams are undefeated and have been powered by strong quarterback play by Skyler Howard and Baker Mayfield respectively. WVU, however, hasn't played outside of Morgantown thus far and the OU homefield advantage will be the difference.
Pick: Oklahoma

Purdue vs. 2 Michigan State - ESPN2, 12:00
Pick: Michigan State

Army vs. Penn State - ESPNU, 12:00
Pick: Penn State

Kansas vs. Iowa State - Fox Sports Networks, 12:00
Pick: Iowa State

South Carolina vs. Missouri - SEC Network, 12:00
While South Carolina has been a bit of a disappointment thus far, Missouri's putrid offense has led to tight games against inferior teams and a loss to Kentucky. That said, their defense has been strong and that'll carry them to a close win.
Pick: Missouri

Minnesota vs. 16 Northwestern - BTN, 12:00
Northwestern has been a pleasant surprise thus far and thus this is a big game for them. Every game for the Gophers has been close but while that includes games against TCU, it also includes Colorado State, Kent State and Ohio. The Wildcats' stout defense will be the difference.
Pick: Northwestern

Houston vs. Tulsa - CBSSN, 12:00
Pick: Houston

UCF vs. Tulane - ESPNEWS, 12:00
Pick: UCF

Texas vs. 4 TCU - ABC, 12:00
The Horned Frogs did look vulnerable against Texas Tech because their defense has been dreadful. Therefore, look for the Longhorns to make it interesting, at least.
Pick: TCU

Iowa vs. 19 Wisconsin - ESPN, 12:00
Pick: Wisconsin

Pittsburgh vs. Virginia Tech - ESPN3, 12:00
Pick: Virginia Tech

Louisville vs. NC State - ACC Networks, 12:30
Pick: NC State

Ohio vs. Akron - ESPN3, 2:00
Pick: Ohio

FIU vs. Massachusetts - ESPN3, 3:00
Pick: Massachusetts

Toledo vs. Ball State - ESPN3, 3:00
Pick: Ball State

Northern Illinois vs. Central Michigan - ESPN3, 3:00
Pick: Northern Illinois

Liberty vs. Georgia State - ESPN3, 3:30
Pick: Liberty

11 Florida State vs. Wake Forest - ESPN, 3:30
Pick: Florida State

Miami (OH) vs. Kent State - ESPN3, 3:30
Pick: Kent State

Wyoming vs. Appalachian State - ESPN3, 3:30
Pick: Appalachian State

Boston College vs. Duke - Fox Sports Networks (ACC), 3:30
Pick: Duke

Air Force vs. Navy - CBSSN, 3:30
Pick: Navy

Bowling Green vs. Buffalo - ESPN3, 3:30
Pick: Buffalo

13 Alabama vs. 8 Georgia - CBS, 3:30
As of press time, Alabama is an underdog. The last time that happened was the 2009 SEC Championship Game. I think the Crimson Tide have a lot to prove after the crazy loss in Oxford and I think they'll get the road win.
Pick: Alabama

1 Ohio State vs. Indiana - ABC/ESPN2, 3:30
It would be a major upset but Nate Sudfeld can keep the Hoosiers competitive.
Pick: Ohio State

Old Dominion vs. Marshall - ASN, 3:30
Pick: Marshall

Texas Tech vs. 5 Baylor - ABC/ESPN2, 3:30
After nearly taking out TCU, will Baylor be next for the Red Raiders? I think they'll make the Bears sweat but not enough to pull a road upset.
Pick: Baylor

North Carolina vs. Georgia Tech - ESPNU, 3:30
The Ramblin' Wreck have been just that with two straight road losses. UNC has themselves a fun offense but they haven't beaten anybody. With the return to Atlanta, give me the Yellow Jackets.
Pick: Georgia Tech

Nebraska vs. Illinois - BTN, 3:30
Pick: Nebraska

Western Kentucky vs. Rice - Fox Sports Networks, 3:30
Pick: Western Kentucky

Washington State vs. 24 California - Pac-12 Networks, 4:00
Pick: California

Kansas State vs. 20 Oklahoma State - FS1, 4:00
Pick: Oklahoma State

San Jose State vs. Auburn - SEC Network, 4:00
Pick: Auburn

East Carolina vs. SMU - ESPNEWS, 4:00
Pick: East Carolina

3 Ole Miss vs. 25 Florida - ESPN, 7:00
The Gators haven't always looked great this season, but they are 4-0. Meanwhile, Ole Miss fell into a trip game in struggling to best Vanderbilt at home. There is no question to me that the Rebels are the better team but I think that Jim McElwain has enough to cook a home upset.
Pick: Florida

Colorado State vs. Utah State - ESPN3, 7:00
Pick: Utah State

Idaho vs. Arkansas State - ESPN3, 7:00
Pick: Arkansas State

Georgia Southern vs. Louisiana-Monroe - ESPN3, 7:00
Pick: Georgia Southern

South Alabama vs. Troy - ESPN3, 7:00
Pick: Troy

UNLV vs. Nevada - Mountain West Network, 7:00
Pick: Nevada

Eastern Michigan vs. 9 LSU - ESPNU, 7:00
Pick: LSU

Vanderbilt vs. Middle Tennessee - CBSSN, 7:00
Pick: Vanderbilt

Arkansas vs. Tennessee - ESPN2, 7:00
The Hogs are a real mess right now after suffering their third straight loss, this time in overtime in Arlington to Texas A&M. There is no reason to have any confidence in them and thus I think they'll fall to Tennessee
Pick: Tennessee

Louisiana vs. Louisiana Tech - ASN, 7:00
Pick: Louisiana Tech

North Texas vs. Southern Miss - Fox College Sports, 7:00
Pick: Southern Miss

Eastern Kentucky vs. Kentucky - SEC Network, 7:30
Pick: Kentucky

21 Mississippi State vs. 14 Texas A&M - SEC Network, 7:30
Dak Prescott can only do so much for Clanga and that doesn't include defense. The stout Aggies offense will be the difference in College Station.
Pick: Texas A&M

Arizona State vs. 7 UCLA - Fox, 7:30
We have seen a lot of stunning results thus far in the Pac-12 this season, one of which being UCLA drilling Arizona in Tucson on Saturday night. They are, to me, the top club in the conference but I think the conference Hunger Games will continue with a big upset in Pasadena. Yes, give me the Aztecs.
Pick: Arizona State

UTSA vs. UTEP - KMYS, 8:00
Pick: UTSA

New Mexico State vs. New Mexico - Root Sports, 8:00
Pick: New Mexico

22 Michigan vs. Maryland - BTN, 8:00
Pick: Michigan

6 Notre Dame vs. 12 Clemson - ABC, 8:00
Even with their injuries, including quarterback Malik Zaire, the Fighting Irish have been looking very good this season. They're going to be a CFB Playoff contender but playing in Death Valley is a different story and Deshaun Watson, as we all know, is a terrific QB. I like the Tigers.
Pick: Clemson

Oregon vs. Colorado - ESPN, 10:00
Pick: Oregon

Hawaii vs. Boise State - ESPN2, 10:15
Pick: Boise State

Arizona vs. 18 Stanford - Pac-12 Networks, 10:30
In what was a big chance to make a statement, Arizona got blasted at home by UCLA. Given that Stanford's offense has looked much better than expected, I think Stanford will continue their roll.
Pick: Stanford

Fresno State vs. San Diego State - CBSSN, 10:30
Pick: San Diego State
