March may be over but the Madness is still rolling on this weekend as we have finally come to the Final Four. All Division I programs began their seasons with dreams of getting to Indianapolis with a chance to win a national championship but now we are down to four. The focus is on the undefeated Kentucky Wildcats as they aim to be the first ever team to go 40-0 but they will have to get through the Badgers for the second straight year. Meanwhile, a rolling Duke team and a quasi-Cinderella in Michigan State await. Who will advance to Monday's National Championship Game? Here are my predictions. Saturday, April 4th
1 Duke vs. 7 Michigan State - TBS/TNT/truTV, 6:09
In terms of coaching matchups, it really does not get that much better in the sport than Mike Krzyzewski and Tom Izzo. Izzo has done a tremendous job with the Spartans this past month (what a surprise) but I think this matchup favors the Blue Devils. They have the offense to run the Spartans out of the gym and their defense, not exactly sensational this year, has been performing very well in the tournament thus far and may be better than Michigan State on that side of the court.
I think the best team to take on and take down Kentucky just lost to Wisconsin in the Elite Eight but in that case, I think the Badgers may have the best shot. Wisconsin has the size to be a solid match for all the height that the Wildcats feature and their tremendous offense, arguably the finest in college basketball this season, could be able to do what Notre Dame was able to do to give Kentucky such a tough fight last Saturday. But even a team like Notre Dame playing tremendously well, it still showed how tough it has been for somebody to finally kill off Kentucky and I think they will pull one out at least once more.
