2015 Patriot League Tournament Predictions

The 2015 Patriot League Tournament kicks off on Tuesday night. While the conference does not seem to be as top-heavy as it has been in years past with top-seeded Bucknell only having a record of 18-13, the history of the tournament (the tournament champion has never been lower than the second seed) means that the safe money will be on Bucknell or Colgate getting the conference's automatic bid. Of course, we know that relying solely on past history could be dangerous.

All of that in mind, here are my predictions for the Patriot League Tournament.

All games played at campus site of higher seed

First Round - Tuesday, March 3rd
8 Holy Cross vs. 9 Loyola (MD) - Patriot League Network, 7:00
Pick: Holy Cross

7 Navy vs. 10 Army - Patriot League Network, 7:00
Pick: Navy

Quarterfinals - Thursday, March 5th
1 Bucknell vs. 8 Holy Cross - Patriot League Network, 7:00
Pick: Bucknell

4 Lafayette vs. 5 Boston  - Patriot League Network, 7:00
Pick: Lafayette

3 Lehigh vs. 6 American* - Patriot League Network, 7:00
Pick: Lehigh

2 Colgate vs. 7 Navy - Patriot League Network, 7:00
Pick: Colgate

Semifinals - Sunday, March 8th
1 Bucknell vs. 4 Lafayette - CBS Sports Network, 2:00
Pick: Bucknell

2 Colgate vs. 3 Lehigh - CBS Sports Network, 4:00
Pick: Colgate

Championship - Wednesday, March 11th
1 Bucknell vs. 2 Colgate - CBS Sports Network, 7:30
Not exactly the most exciting pick to go with a 1-2 championship matchup but these are the two best teams in the conference and they have the home-court advantage. But even as they have a losing record at the moment, I think Colgate is actually the better team and they have already swept the Bison this season. The Raiders will get to the first tournament in 20 years.
Pick: Colgate
