2015 Big 12 Tournament Predictions

For the sixth straight year, the Big 12 tournament will be held in KCMO. The Big 12 had a pretty wild year with only two games separating the first-place team (Kansas) from the fifth-place team (West Virginia). We don't even know who the second-best Big 12 team is. All in all, it should be a wild week in Kansas City.

Here are my predictions for the 2015 Big 12 Tournament.

All games held at Sprint Center in Kansas City

First Round - Wednesday, March 11th
8 Kansas State vs. 9 TCU - ESPNU, 7:00
Pick: Kansas State

7 Texas vs. 10 Texas Tech - ESPNU, 9:00
Pick: Texas

Quarterfinals - Thursday, March 12th
4 Baylor vs. 5 West Virginia - ESPN2, 12:30
The Bears have swept the Mountaineers already but I'm feeling a different result this go-around behind the solid WVU defense.
Pick: West Virginia

1 Kansas vs. 8 Kansas State - ESPN2, 2:30
There will be no court storming after this contest.
Pick: Kansas

2 Iowa State vs. 7 Texas - ESPNU, 7:00
The Longhorns have been all over the place this season, so I do not have a great deal of confidence that they can pull off this upset.
Pick: Iowa State

3 Oklahoma vs. 6 Oklahoma State - ESPNU, 9:00
The Cowboys have struggled down the stretch and have already lost twice to Oklahoma. I don't see a different result this time either.
Pick: Oklahoma

Semifinals - Friday, March 13th
1 Kansas vs. 5 West Virginia - ESPN2, 7:00
These two have played it close both times they have played this year and I have no reason to see why it will be any different this time. This will be more of a home game for the Jayhawks and I think they'll have the advantage.
Pick: Kansas

2 Iowa State vs. 3 Oklahoma - ESPN2, 9:00
The Cyclones and the Sooners have split their two contests so like in the first semifinal, this will be a good one. I think Oklahoma's much stronger defensive unit will make the difference.
Pick: Oklahoma

Championship - Saturday, March 14th
1 Kansas vs. 3 Oklahoma - ESPN, 6:00
Similarly to basically everybody in the top crop of the conference, Kansas and Oklahoma have split their two meetings. I do think the Sooners have the slight advantage since they just beat them in the regular season finale.
Pick: Oklahoma
