2015 Atlantic 10 Tournament Predictions

Which is the mid-major conference ranked highest in conference RPI? It would be the Atlantic 10 Conference, whose conference championship kicks off this Wednesday in Crooklyn. This year, the tournament contains 14 teams after the addition of Davidson to the conference and the Wildcats sure made an impact in their debut season as they won the conference regular season crown and thus are the top seed in the conference tourney. The A-10 has a few teams in the mix for the Big Dance, making that automatic bid all the more valuable.

Who will lock up their tournament bids this week, including that auto-bid? Here are my predictions for the 2015 Atlantic 10 Tournament.

All games held at Barclays Center in Brooklyn

First Round - Wednesday, March 11th
12 Fordham vs. 13 George Mason - 6:30
Pick: George Mason

11 Duquesne vs. 14 Saint Louis - 9:00
Pick: Duquesne

Second Round - Thursday, March 12th
8 Massachusetts vs. 9 La Salle - NBCSN, 12:00
Pick: La Salle

5 VCU vs. 13 George Mason - NBCSN, 2:30
Pick: VCU

7 St. Bonaventure vs. 10 St. Joseph's - NBCSN, 6:30
Pick: St. Bonaventure

6 George Washington vs. 11 Duquesne - NBCSN, 9:00
Pick: George Washington

Quarterfinals - Friday, March 13th
1 Davidson vs. 9 La Salle - NBCSN, 12:00
Pick: Davidson

4 Richmond vs. 5 VCU - NBCSN, 2:30
Pick: Richmond

2 Dayton vs. 7 St. Bonaventure - NBCSN, 6:30
Pick: Dayton

3 Rhode Island vs. 6 George Washington - NBCSN, 9:00
Pick: George Washington

Semifinals - Saturday, March 14th
1 Davidson vs. 4 Richmond - CBS Sports Network, 1:30
The defense of the Spiders will be just enough to slow down the potent Davidson attack, just like they did two months ago when they won by 16.
Pick: Richmond

2 Dayton vs. 6 George Washington - CBS Sports Network, 4:00
These two will keep it low-scoring, only to the benefit of the Colonials who are not that deep offensively. GW has already beaten the Flyers once and they will pull the upset again.
Pick: George Washington

Championship - Sunday, March 15th
4 Richmond vs. 6 George Washington - CBS, 1:00
There will be even more defense in this contest but with how Richmond can control the tempo, I like them to end their at-large debate and get that automatic bid.
Pick: Richmond
