My 2016 Baseball Hall of Fame Ballot

(US Presswire)
The 2016 Baseball Hall of Fame class will be announced this upcoming Wednesday, January 6th. As a consistent reader of this space (I hope), you know that this is a passionate subject of mine, one of which I dumped a decent amount of computer ink on. Who do I think should be inducted into Cooperstown this summer? Here is my hypothetical ballot.

What is next for Chip Kelly & the Eagles?

(Philadelphia Inquirer)
The NFL season is not even over yet and the coaching carousel is already getting underway with the Eagles dismissing coach Chip Kelly yesterday. This comes only one season after Kelly was giving control over personnel matters and after a wild offseason with a number of bold moves, the Eagles have suffered through a pretty disappointing season at 6-9 after back-to-back 10-6 seasons.

So now after this relatively surprising decision, what is next for both parties?

2016 College Football Playoff Semifinal Predictions

If it's New Year's Eve, it's the College Football Playoff. Of course, having the semifinals on December 31st really wasn't the best of ideas but alas, they are the cards we've been dealt.

Four teams are still alive to win the national championship, but only two of them will still be around on January 11th. Who will they be? Here are my picks.

2015 NFL Playoff Projections: Week 16

With Christmas right around the corner (literally) and the NFL playoffs commencing not that long after it, let's take a look at how the playoff picture shapes up now and how I think it will look come the conclusion of Week 17.

2015 NFL Predictions: Week 16

(Getty)
I'll be completely honest, there are a lot of mediocre games this week. That said, a few contests carry a lot of potential significance. Washington-Philadelphia is big for the NFC East. Green Bay-Arizona can help solidify who gets a bye in the NFC as well as helping to figure out who will win the NFC North (the other team, Minnesota, hosts the Giants). And Cincinnati-Denver has some big bye ramifications in the AFC. So, actually some things to look out for. Here are your Week 16 picks.

We are still years away from the conclusion of the current NFL television contract but the newest piece of the NFL broadcasting pie will be on the market this winter. Thursday Night Football has been an entity for almost a decade now but now after two seasons of a partnership with CBS, allowing the package to show viability on broadcast television after many years on NFL Network, the rights are poised to hit the market next month.

(Cary Edmondson - USA TODAY Sports)
The Heisman race comes to a conclusion tonight at the Downtown Athletic Club in New York. Who will be striking the pose and winning the iconic trophy tonight? Here are my thoughts.

2015 NFL Predictions: Week 14

(AP)
The worst division in the NFL has been thrown into flux yet again. It began with the Giants blowing yet another 4th quarter lead, this time to their intra-suburb rival. Then the Eagles pulled one of the biggest upsets of the season by going into Foxborough and riding 35 unanswered points to defeat the Patriots. The madness concluded with a dreadful Dallas-Washington contest with a bonkers finish that resulted with the Cowboys winning their first game without Tony Romo. Now Washington, New York and Philadelphia are tied for the division lead at 5-7 with Dallas a game back at 4-8.

Only four weeks remain in this season and the playoffs are getting closer. Who will win this week?

2016 College Football Coaching Carousel: Grading the Hires

(Miami Herald)
The 2016 college football coaching carousel kicked off early and even as the regular season has not finished yet, a good number of those jobs have already been filled. Those jobs include some of the sport's true blue bloods as well as a number of underachieving Power 5 schools as well as many mid-majors.

Why the Red Sox needed David Price

(AP)
New Red Sox president Dave Dombrowski has already been aggressive in remaking the Red Sox this offseason, specifically with regards to their pitching staff. Boston traded prospects to San Diego for closer Craig Kimbrel a few weeks ago and now they have made the biggest splash in free agency by signing star pitcher David Price to a massive seven-year, $217 million contract, the highest ever given to a pitcher. It's certainly no chump change but I would have to argue that it was a deal that had to be made.

Here are my predictions for Championship Week.

Judgment Day is coming soon in the world of college football, specifically the College Football Playoff. 2015 Chase for the Sprint Cup Championship Predictions

The Final Four
In what could very well go down as one of the most anticipated races in NASCAR history, the Chase for the Sprint Cup champion will be crowned this Sunday evening at Homestead-Miami Speedway. And of course, all eyes will be on Jeff Gordon as he will be racing in his final race and, as far as I know, could become the first driver to win the championship in his final race but you have also got the defending series champion in Kevin Harvick as well as a pair of drivers vying for their first championship in Kyle Busch and Martin Truex Jr.

The best finishing driver on Sunday will be the next champion. Who will that be?

2015 NFL Predictions: Week 11

In today's NFL, you can be sitting at 3-6 and be in the thick of a playoff race. Yes, the Jacksonville Jaguars got bailed out down the stretch by a dumb Baltimore penalty and a bad officiating miss but now they are only a game out of first place in the AFC South. What a world.

2015 College Football Predictions: Week 11

(USATSI)
We have seen a lot of crazy plays and finishes the last month but I have never seen anything quite like what the Arkansas Razorbacks pulled off to convert a 4th and 25 to keep the game going, which Arkansas promptly won when they went for two on the ensuing touchdown.

So now in the world of college football, what could possibly happen next? Here are my picks for Week 11.
