2014 MLB Postseason: Division Series Predictions

The 2014 MLB Wild Card saw a pair of games that were drastically different. The Royals, in their first postseason appearance since 1985, won an instant classic as they rallied twice to beat the Athletics in 12, 9-8, on Tuesday night. Meanwhile, the Giants dominated the Pirates on Wednesday night as they were advance easily by a 8-0 final. Now the Division Series kicks off this Thursday and the race to the Fall Classic is on. Who will survive their best-of-five series? Here are my predictions.

2014 Chase for the Sprint Cup: Contender Round Predictions

The new-look Chase has gone through its first ever elimination as the field in the Challenger Round has been whittled down from 16 drivers to 12 (and I did correctly predict the four drivers to be eliminated). Now we are in what is called the Contender Round as 12 drivers still have their hopes of a Sprint Cup championship alive. The three tracks these drivers will have to endure are Kansas Speedway, Charlotte Motor Speedway and a track that is sure to shake things up, and particularly so as a elimination race, Talladega Superspeedway. Who will make it to the Eliminator Round and who will be eliminated? Here are my predictions.

2014 MLB Postseason: Division Series TV Schedule & Announcers

After the Wild Card action taking place on Tuesday and Wednesday, the Division Series kicks off on Thursday. And unlike the last several years when TBS had exclusivity over the LDS, it will be split between TBS, which will carry the ALDS, and Fox Sports 1, which will carry the NLDS. MLB Network will also carry a pair of games as well. Let's take a look at the television and announcing schedule for the 2014 LDS, and enjoy what a bad job MLB did in putting this together.

2014 NFL Predictions: Week 5

(Getty)
It's the fifth week of the NFL season and it is also October. If this isn't football time, what could it be (okay, postseason baseball). We saw a number of surprising results in Week 4 (Tampa Bay upsetting Pittsburgh? Minnesota drilling Atlanta? Dallas routing New Orleans?), could we see more of that this week or more rational action? Here are my Week 5 picks.

2014 College Football Predictions: Week 6

(AP)
As the schedule turns to October, we really start to get into it in terms of conference play. There are some good games on top this week including Texas A&M-Mississippi State, Alabama-Ole Miss, Oklahoma-TCU, LSU-Auburn, Arizona State-USC, Nebraska-Michigan State and for those who still pine for nonconference action, Stanford-Notre Dame is a good one. Here are my picks for Week 6.

2014 MLB Postseason: Wild Card Predictions

The road to the World Series begins on Wednesday and Thursday night with the Wild Card games. It's a one-game playoff within the playoffs as for the four teams involved, it may just all come down to this. It's the Athletics and the Royals in the AL, and it's the Giants and the Pirates in the NL. Who will advance to the Division Series? Here are my Wild Card picks.

Jordan Zimmerman's no-hitter was clinched by this AMAZING catch

Nothing like closing the regular season out with a no-hitter, am I right? Well the Nationals did just that today in Washington as their ace Jordan Zimmerman successfully no-hit the Marlins. It was the first no-hitter for the franchise since their move to Washington (The last one was when Dennis Martinez threw a perfecto in Los Angeles in July 1991). However, the play that clinched the no-hitter was extraordinary as Steven Souza made a great diving catch. Let's go to the videotape.
