Fanatic Radio 9/5/14

Before the NFL kicks off, we are joined by two special baseball guests, Kendra Levesque and director Jeffrey Radice for our Weekly Conversation. Radice is the director of the upcoming film, No No: A Dockumentary, the life of former Pittsburgh Pirates pitcher Dock Ellis and his everlasting change on the culture of baseball including his famous no hitter on LSD. Kendra is the first female to win the King of Swat homerun derby title at the Cooperstown (N.Y.) Dreams Park and played in the tournament with the Sparks, a little league all-girls team competing against the boys. As the NFL begins, the fines, penalties and drama surrounds the first week of football and Fanatic Radio is read to break it down - as well as what themes to look out for.

Today on Fanatic Radio

If it's Friday, that means it is Fanatic Radio at 4 pm Eastern. Today on the show, I will be hosting the program with Mike on assignment at Texas Motor Speedway. First, we will be joined by the director of the acclaimed documentary on famed pitcher Dock Ellis, No No: A Dockumentary, Jeffrey Radice. Also on the show will be our Weekly Conversation, this time with Kendra Levesque, the first ever female to win the King of Swat home run derby at Dreams Park in Cooperstown as well as an all-star in the Sunset Little League in New Mexico. And then it is the Fanatic Radio NFL preview: the season opened up last night with the defending champion Seattle Seahawks smacking the Green Bay Packers, could we see the first repeat champions in almost a decade? Or will somebody win the Lombardi Trophy this February. Plus we will recap the opening week in college football and tackle anything else that pops up.

In the wide world of sports, we're not crazy...just fanatics. Fanatic Radio this afternoon at 4 pm on Blog Talk Radio. Listen live right here and call in at (646) 595-3137.

2014 College Football Predictions: Week 2

(Getty Images)
After a wild opening week of the college football season, one that was full of surprising finishes, will we come back to Earth this week? There aren't as many juicy matchups as last week but there are still some quality ones, with perhaps the finest being in Euguene with Michigan State taking on Oregon.

Who will win this week? Here are my picks.

The wait you have all had to endure is over as the best reality show on television has returned: the National Football League. 2015 NASCAR TV Schedule

NASCAR announced the 2015 schedule earlier this week and considering that the sport is entering a new television contract with Fox and NBC, there are some noticeable changes for the top three series next year. Let's take a look.

2014 NFL Predictions

(Getty)
After a dominant performance in Super Bowl XLVIII in claiming their first championship in franchise history, the Seattle Seahawks enter the 2014 NFL season aiming to defend their crown. No team has successfully repeated as Super Bowl champions since the Patriots in 2005 but can a loaded Seattle club survive a tough NFC West and a strong NFC to get to Glendale in February? Can the Broncos rebound from their brutal performance to win it all? Will we see somebody altogether?

Here are my predictions for the 2014 NFL season.
