2014 ESPN College Football Announcers

We are getting closer and closer to college football returning. The latest sign of that is ESPN, the dominant force in college football on television, announcing their commentator crews for 2014. We have got a number of changes across the board, which is common, as well as a change at the top, which isn't. Let's take a look.

Breaking down the David Price trade between Tampa, Detroit and Seattle

Not to be outdone by the Athletics' bold move this morning, the Detroit Tigers made a little noise of their own close to the trade deadline this afternoon by piecing together a blockbuster three-team trade to acquire David Price from Tampa Bay. Said deal includes the Tigers sending centerfielder Austin Jackson to Seattle, lefty Drew Smyly and shortstop prospect Willy Adames to Tampa, who will also receive infielder Nick Franklin from the M's. No doubt about it, the Athletics are aiming for the World Series

The Oakland Athletics entered today with the best record in all of baseball but to them, that was not enough. Therefore, they went out and made the first bold move of the trade deadline in acquiring Red Sox ace Jon Lester as well as Johnny Gomes for Yoenis Cespedes and a pick as first reported by Yahoo's Jeff Passan. With a bold move such as this, as well as the one to acquire Jeff Samardzija and Jason Hammel from the Cubs early this month, A's general manager Billy Beane is making it very clear how high his club is aspiring this October.

Why Carl Edwards is leaving Roush Fenway Racing

Roush Fenway Racing announced their 2015 Sprint Cup driver lineup this morning and to the surprise of few, Carl Edwards will not be a part of RFR next year and going forward. Edwards is in a contract year and has been rumored for months to be seriously considering leaving Roush, for whom he has raced for since 2003, and especially so after it was announced that Trevor Bayne would be running in Cup full-time next year. Bayne will join holdovers Greg Biffle, who re-signed with RFR, and Ricky Stenhouse, Jr. to comprise the Roush lineup.

So why is Edwards leaving? The answer is pretty simple.
