2014 NBA Draft: Team Grades

While the 2014 NBA Draft may not have been as wild as some had thought (and hoped), there was still plenty of good action in Brooklyn last night. How did all 30 clubs grade out at the end of the day? Here are my team grades.

Watch Adam Silver & the NBA draft Isaiah Austin

(Getty Images)
It is a rather rare occurrence that the most memorable moment of a draft night features a player that was not actually drafted, but that is what happened last night during the NBA Draft. Baylor big Isaiah Austin, projected by some to be a second round pick, saw his NBA dreams dashed less than a week ago when he learned that he had been diagnosed with a rare genetic disorder called Marfan syndrome, one that would put his life at risk had he attempted to play in the NBA. An awful development for anyone so close to the draft.

NBA commissioner Adam Silver made a very gracious move by inviting Austin to the draft as his guest but he took it one step further last night between the 15th and 16th picks. Let's go to the videotape.

2014 MLB on Fox Announcers & Distribution: June 28th

Fox Sports has a quarter of MLB action in primetime this Saturday. The games that will be distributed across the country are Red Sox-Yankees, Cardinals-Dodgers, Nationals-Cubs and Braves-Phillies, and I have a feeling you know which will be the primary game.

Anyhow, the action begins Saturday at 7:00 EDT, following Twins-Rangers on Fox Sports 1. Continue reading for the announcer assignments and the distribution splits for this week's edition of the MLB on Fox.

2014 NBA Mock Draft: Final Edition

Well here we are, the day of the 2014 NBA Draft. And I feel comfortable in saying that the action tonight is going to be out of control as nobody really knows what just may go down tonight in Brooklyn. But it is a very good draft class it is going to be a fun night.

Here is my final NBA mock draft for 2014.

Will LeBron James actually leave the Heat?

The big news of the day, as broken by Chris Broussard, is that LeBron James will opt out of his contract and become a free agent this offseason. Of course we all remember what happened the last time James was a free agent but beyond random Jim Gray sightings, I think this free agency bout will go a little different than it did in. In fact, I think it will likely end with James landing in the same place that he is right now.

Did Uruguay's Luis Suarez bite an Italian player?

(The Guardian)
It is an act you would see in Will Ferrell's Kicking and Screaming, or any other five-year-old soccer game, but Urugauy forward Luis Suarez is being accused of biting Italian defender Giorgio Chiellini in the dramatic 1-0 World Cup match Tuesday.

Don't believe me? Well let's go to the video tape.

It's time for the Sprint Cup Series to race at Road America

(Road America)
Ever since the then-Winston Cup Series returned to Watkins Glen in 1986, NASCAR's top series has run a pair of road course races every season with Sonoma replacing Riverside in 1989. At the very least, it shuts up the clowns who deride NASCAR as "only left turns" but it's also a great change of pace from the usual oval action that dominates the circuit and are what the drivers are generally used to.

It is time for the Sprint Cup Series to add a third road course to the schedule and in my mind, there is only choice for that addition: Road America.
