2014 U.S. Open Preview

The United States Open Championship returns to the famous Course No. 2 of Pinehurst for the first since 2005. It is the second major of 2014 and the 31st tournament of the year. And barring something contrary tradition, scores will be high and golfers will face a much tougher course than they may be used too. The tournament kicks off this Thursday.

Here is the B-Flo 360 preview of the 2014 U.S. Open.

Mike Gardner's 2014 FIFA World Cup Predictions, Everybody Stop What They're Doing

Much like how the Olympics captivates the world audience with the curiosity of pretending to know half the medal events and what scandals and preplanned drama awaits from NBC, the FIFA World Cup is only days away from the month long kick off to crown the best soccer team in the world.

Yes, here comes another soccer rant from Mike Gardner (
Listen to another here).

2014 NFL on CBS Announcers

Just one day after it was reported that the broadcast team of Ian Eagle and Dan Fouts was being promoted, we know have the full commentator pairings for the NFL in CBS for the 2014 season. Let's take a look.

2014 FIFA World Cup Predictions

It is the beautiful game on its biggest stage. The eyes of the world will be focused on Brazil for the next month for the 2014 FIFA World Cup. 32 teams are all aiming to hoist the World Cup Trophy on July 13th at the Estádio de Maracanã in Rio, but there can only be one. Who will be World Cup champions when all is said and done? Here are my predictions.

Ian Eagle & Dan Fouts promoted by the NFL on CBS

Ever since Dan Dierdorf announced he was retiring from NFL broadcasting, there was going to be some shuffling going on at the NFL on CBS. Dierdorf was last on the B team with Greg Gumbel. Considering that the B team was a coveted position as that crew traditionally got to call a Divisional Playoffs game (although CBS and Fox will alternate having a second Divisional game with NBC getting one starting this year), CBS was making a relatively big call.

Pretty much everyone, myself included, wanted CBS to promote the C team of Ian Eagle and Dan Fouts. Heck, I even expected them to promote them rather than promote an analyst to work with Gumbel and predicted them to do so a few weeks ago. Well, guess what Richard Deitsch just reported about an hour ago.

Watch John Oliver show how comically awful FIFA is

FIFA is terrible. I probably did not have to tell you that for you to know it. But if I did, here is the great John Oliver of HBO's Last Week Tonight to brilliantly show us indeed how awful FIFA truly is. Let's go to the videotape.

Sour grapes and all, is California Chrome owner Steve Coburn right?

(Getty Images)
Well if you happened to miss what went down yesterday, California Chrome did not win the Triple Crown. Rather, it was Tonalist that came up victorious at yesterday's Belmont Stakes as California Chrome finished fourth. And in the immediate aftermath of the race, Chrome co-owner Steve Coburn, who has been celebrated as a sort of an everyman compared to the traditional thoroughbred owner, went on an angry rant on the current system that allows a horse like Tonalist to run in the Belmont without having run in the Kentucky Derby and the Preakness States.

And you know what, he may be right.
