2014 SEC Tournament Predictions

The 2014 Southeastern Conference Tournament kicks off Wednesday in Hotlanta with all eyes on the Gators of Florida. Perhaps the hottest team in America having won every game since losing by one at Connecticut on the second of December, Florida swept through SEC play like a big wheel through a Delta cotton field. Can they complete the job in a noticeably weaker SEC in tournament play?

Here are my 2014 SEC Tournament predictions.

First Round - March 12th
#13 South Carolina vs. #12 Auburn - SEC TV, 7:00
Pick: Auburn

#14 Mississippi State vs. #11 Vanderbilt - SEC TV, 9:30
Pick: Vanderbilt

Second Round - March 13th
#9 Texas A&M vs. #8 Missouri - SEC TV, 1:00
Seems like a classic Frank Haith loss, eh?
Pick: Texas A&M

#12 Auburn vs. #5 Arkansas - SEC TV, 3:30
Road Arkansas does not apply, yet.
Pick: Arkansas

#10 Alabama vs. #7 LSU - SEC TV, 7:00
Pick: Alabama

#11 Vanderbilt vs. #6 Ole Miss - SEC TV, 9:30
Pick: Ole Miss

Quarterfinals - March 14th
#9 Texas A&M vs. #1 Florida - ESPNU, 1:00
Good luck with that.
Pick: Florida

#5 Arkansas vs. #4 Tennessee - ESPNU, 3:30
Pick: Tennessee

#10 Alabama vs. #2 Kentucky - SEC TV, 7:00
Kentucky is so all over the place, I was actually considering picking the Tide. And it certainly is not beyond the realm of possibility, either.
Pick: Kentucky

#6 Ole Miss vs. #3 Georgia - SEC TV, 9:30
The Bulldogs have been a surprise all season in the SEC but I think that their surprise will be undercut by some Marshall Henderson action.
Pick: Ole Miss

Semifinals - March 15th
#4 Tennessee vs. #1 Florida - ABC, 1:00
I think the Vols can pull off this upset, and this will be closer than the experts think.
Pick: Florida

#6 Ole Miss vs. #2 Kentucky - ABC, 3:30
Can the Rebels do it again? Why not?
Pick: Ole Miss

Championship - March 16th
#6 Ole Miss vs. #1 Florida - ESPN, 3:15
Marshall Henderson is many things, but good enough to take out Florida is not one of them.
Pick: Florida
