2014 Northeast Conference Tournament Predictions

The Northeast Conference kicks off its conference tournament this Wednesday and whoever ends up winning the automatic bid will, at least traditionally, be giving a high seed a headache or two in the early rounds of March Madness. Therefore, you should be keeping a close eye on the NEC Tournament this week into the next.

And with that, here are my tournament predictions for the 2014 Northeast Conference Tournament.

Quarterfinals - March 5th
#8 Farleigh Dickinson vs. #1 Robert Morris - 7:00
Pick: Robert Morris

#7 Central Connecticut vs. #2 Wagner - 7:00
Pick: Wagner

#6 San Francis (PA) vs. #3 Bryant - 7:00
Pick: Bryant

#5 St. Francis Brooklyn vs. #4 Mount St. Mary's - NEC Network, 7:00
Pick: St. Francis Brooklyn

Semifinals - March 8th
#5 St. Francis Brooklyn vs. #1 Robert Morris - NEC Network, 12:00 or 2:00
The Terriers were drilled when they hosted Robert Morris a month ago, but they played them very tough when they played at Pittsburgh. I think they will pull off the upset this go-around.
Pick: St. Francis Brooklyn

#3 Bryant vs. #2 Wagner - NEC Network, 12:00 or 2:00
Both of these clubs score relatively well and give up their fair share of points, so we will see a fair share of offense. Wagner swept the season series, and I think they'll survive and advance.
Pick: Wagner

Championship - March 11th
#5 St. Francis Brooklyn vs. #2 Wagner - ESPN or ESPN2, 7:00
When these two clubs played in Brooklyn in their sole season meeting, Wagner won, but only by one. I think the NEC Cinderella, if you will, will be the champions.
Pick: St. Francis Brooklyn
