2014 Big 12 Tournament Predictions

I think the Big 12 was the strongest conference in collegiate hoops this year, so that should make this week's action in the Paris of the Plains can't-miss. Kansas is the tournament favorite, they won the conference in the regular season yet again for the tenth straight year, and they have won six of the eight conference tournaments. But as I have mentioned, this is a deep conference and thus not one easily won.

And with that in mind, enjoy my 2014 Big 12 Championship predictions.

First Round - March 12th
#9 Texas Tech vs. #8 Oklahoma State - Big 12 Network, 7:00
Pick: Oklahoma State

#10 TCU vs. #7 Baylor - Big 12 Network, 9:30
Pick: Baylor

Quarterfinals - March 13th
#5 Kansas State vs. #4 Iowa State - ESPN2, 12:30
Pick: Iowa State

#8 Oklahoma State vs. #1 Kansas - ESPN2, 3:00
Even with the overtime loss to I-State, I love how Okie State has turned it around, and I just think they will upset the Jayhawks again. But that does not mean they will, so Kansas will win in a squeaker.
Pick: Kansas

#7 Baylor vs. #2 Oklahoma - Big 12 Network, 7:00
Pick: Oklahoma

#6 West Virginia vs. #3 Texas - Big 12 Network, 9:30
Pick: Texas

Semifinals - March 14th
#4 Iowa State vs. #1 Kansas - Big 12 Network/ESPNU, 7:00
Their first two meetings were not all that competitive, but I think the Cyclones' strong offense may take Kansas a little by surprise and they'll pull the upset.
Pick: Iowa State

#3 Texas vs. #2 Oklahoma - Big 12 Network/ESPNU, 9:30
The Sooners swept the season series and I think their offense will be too much for a crafty Texas squad.
Pick: Oklahoma

Championship - March 15th
#4 Iowa State vs. #2 Oklahoma - ESPN, 9:00
You want offense? You will get offense in this bad boy. So the difference will come with defense, and that leans towards the Cyclones.
Pick: Iowa State
