2014 MLB on Fox Schedule

Major League Baseball on Fox has returned for its 19th season, but will see a shorter season than what we have been used to in the past. Their coverage will kick off in mid-May until the All-Star Game, then will not return until September and the run to the postseason. With the new television contract, Fox Sports 1 will be carrying a number of games this season on Saturdays, including in doubleheaders with the Fox game. It represents a significant shift in the baseball TV landscape with less games on broadcast TV.

And some more big news is that the new lead Fox broadcast crew will be Joe Buck, Harold Reynolds and Tom Verducci in the wake of Tim McCarver's retirement. McCarver was the first and to this point only lead commentator Fox had from their debut in 1996.

So without further ado, the MLB on Fox schedule for 2014, along with announcers added all season long.

  1. Without Tim McCarver, will Joe Buck announce all Yankee games? Will Joe Buck announce games on Tuesday and Thursday?

    1. Haven't heard yet what Buck's schedule would look like, or even his new crew. The latter should be announced this week.

  2. Will Joe Buck broadcast the Yankees and Royals? He missed broadcasting the Yankees playing the Red Sox and Angels due to his marriage.

    1. No, it will be Kenny Albert and Eric Karros

  3. Why will they not carry another baseball game after the all star game until September?

  4. Fox chose to pick select weekends due to their decreased amount of slots as those games have moved to FS1.

  5. I'd like to see Fox air a Blue Jays game but I don't think that will happen although they've aired a Bills game in Toronto.

  6. Ben, will Joe Buck broadcast any Yankee game?

  7. Hey Ben I think Fox did get a Blue Jays game last season remember Toronto played Tampa Bay in September when Tampa Bay was a threat for a wild card Dewayne Staats and Brian Anderson called that game.

    1. Only in a situation such as that one when they are playing somebody in the hunt for a playoff spot like Tampa Bay was last year, which had the Rays broadcast crew on it. It is quite rare for Toronto to get a Fox game but it can happen, with some extenuating circumstances.

  8. Uh, Ben? You put Milwaukee Braves on there for CIN-MIL. Is that supposed to be ATLANTA Braves or is it supposed to be Milwaukee BREWERS? I'm confused!

  9. Hey Ben if Matt Vasgersian gets the Giants and Tigers game on September 6th Wont that mean Dewaynne Statts or Gary Thorne get the Orioles and Rays Game?

    1. It's certainly possible, especially considering that is the first weekend for the NFL and there will be a full CFB slate as well.

  10. Yea I think those would be good announcers up in the booth for that weekend but as far as the studio I know Kevin Burkhardt Wont return til Fox gets Postseason coverage so will this mean that Ryan Field be the studio host or will it be someone else?

    1. I would presume you would see Field manning the studio much of the time.

  11. Will Chris Myers be the studio host when Kevin Burkhardt is calling NFL games for FOX

  12. I think Chris Myers will get the Orioles and Rays game on Saturday because he will be there for the weekend for the Buccaneers game on Sunday.

  13. Will Gary Thorne and Brian Anderson be calling the game differently as they would be calling it on MASN or FOX Sports Tampa Bay

  14. Ben,
FoxSports says that they have announced the games for the final two Saturdays:
    September 20- 1:00
Cincinnati Reds at St. Louis Cardinals
Boston Red Sox at Baltimore Orioles
    September 27- 1:00
New York Yankees at Boston Red Sox
    Pittsburgh Pirates at Cincinnati Reds

  16. Will Thom Brennaman be calling any playoff games for FS1

    1. No, he will be filling in for Buck with Aikman. The two FS1 NLDS crews will be Buck/Reynolds/Verducci/Rosenthal and Vasgersian/Smoltz/Morosi.

  17. Will it be possible for the Rays and Indians to play on the 27th on Fox? The Indians are still in the hunt for the Playoffs Dewayne Staats and Brian Anderson and Ken Rosenthal should call that game.

  18. No because Cleveland will likely be eliminated by next weekend so they could show both the Twins vs Tigers & Royals & White Sox

  19. Will the two American League on TBS announcers will be Ernie Johnson/Cal Ripken and Brian Anderson and Ron Darling
