2013 MLB on Fox Announcers & Distribution: July 6th

As we celebrate 4th of July weekend and the birthplace of America, why don't we enjoy it with some of the national pastime, baseball. And fortunately for you, we have got another quintet of baseball action on Saturday night on Fox Sports. Most of the country will be seeing Braves-Phillies while others will either get Dodgers-Giants, White Sox-Rays, Mets-Brewers or Astros-Rangers. Why the Celtics are making a brilliant hire in Brad Stevens

We do not see stunning surprises like this one in coaching hirings, collegiate and professional. Usually, they have more leaks than the Iraqi Navy but this one, the Boston Celtics hiring Butler head coach Brad Stevens, came out of nowhere and took everyone by surprise, except for of course Stevens and those in the Celtics' front office. And you know what? I think this is a tremendous hire for Boston GM Danny Ainge.

We are now a little past the halfway point of the 2013 MLB season. Now you could theoretically look at my preseason predictions from March, which are looking second-rate as usual, or we could instead hand out some midseason hardware. Where is Dwight Howard headed?

We are now seeing living proof that the Dwight Howard drama may never end, or will at least continue throughout the summer starting tonight at midnight, when teams are allowed to begin contacting free agents. Considering that he probably is the top free agent on the market, with Chris Paul more and more likely re-signing with the Clippers, there will be a lot of interest, especially since elite centers are so hard to come by. So will Howard stay with the Lakers or sign with somebody else?
