2013 Women's NCAA Tournament Predictions

Hey, we've got another tournament for you and it is kicking off today. The 2013 Women's NCAA Tournament kicks off today and who will be cutting down the nets in New Orleans? Here are my predictions.

What should we expect now from Florida Gulf Coast?

You know, I've got a feeling who the darlings of the 2013 NCAA Tournament are already. Florida Gulf Coast University was formed only a couple years before I was born, they have only playing basketball in Division I since 2007 and they only became eligible for the tournament last year. And yet here they are, in position to become the first 15th seed to reach the Sweet Sixteen and pulling off an historic upset over the second-seeded Georgetown Hoyas last night in Philadelphia, 78-68. They were high-flying and they were clearly the stronger team on the court. But now the question must be asked, were they just a fluke performance or are they going to be headed to the Regional Semifinals in Arlington?

2013 NCAA Tournament: 3rd Round Saturday Predictions

The "2nd" Round of the 2013 NCAA Tournament has come to a conclusion and now these teams have a chance to get to the Regional Semifinals, or the Sweet Sixteen as kids these days like to call it. Who will survive and advance? Here are my picks for the Saturday games of the 3rd Round.

2013 NFL Mock Draft: 10th Edition

Alabama CB DeMarcus Milliner
It's been a while folks, seemingly, since I last put out a mock draft due to a variety of reasons, mostly because of spring break and March Madness, but with around a month to go until the NFL Draft arrives, it's time to get back into gear. Here's my newest mock draft.

2013 MLB Predictions

For the second time in three years, the San Francisco Giants were on top of the baseball world as they swept the Detroit Tigers to win the 2012 World Series, their seventh overall and their second in the Bay Area. Will their dominance continue and will they become the first repeat champs since the Yankeess won three in a row from 1998 to 2000? Or will someone else rise up and take the Commissioner's Trophy? It is time for my 2013 MLB Season Predictions.

2013 CollegeInsider.com Tournament Predictions

Hey, if you cannot get into the CBI, there is always the CollegeInsider.com Tournament. Created in 2009 because, well who not, the CIT exists to give mid-major clubs that did not make any of the other tournaments. And yes, that is great because we love tournaments. Here are my 2013 CIT predictions, which tips off tonight.

2013 NCAA Tournament: First Four Predictions

Hey, we've already reached the first round of the 2013 NCAA Tournament with the First Four in beautiful Dayton. Now I know that most folks do not consider March Madness to begin until the Thursday afternoon games but hey, have to play with the hand you are dealt. We have four games over Tuesday and Wednesday nights, here are my predictions for each.

2013 CBI Predictions

Hey, if you can't get in the NIT, there is always the College Basketball Invitational. Now while it is hard to think of any team starting off the 2012-13 season dreaming of landing in the CBI, but it is better than nothing, I guess. And it does feature the Texas Longhorns and the Purdue Boilermakers, so there's that. Here are my 2013 CBI predictions as the tournament kicks off tomorrow night.

2013 NIT Predictions

Hey, if you can't get in the NCAA Tournament, there is always the National Invitation Tournament. I always love to note that the NIT was once the higher tournament in terms of prestige, right up into the 1970's. Those were the days. Anyways, here are my predictions for the 2013 edition of the NIT, which kicks off on Tuesday night.

2013 NCAA Tournament Bracket

The road to the Georgia Dome and the 2013 Final Four begins tonight on Selection Sunday as we have finally received what we have been waiting for, the bracket. The seedings for the 2013 NCAA Tournament has just been released by the selection committee, so let's take a look at the field of 68.

Ole Miss wins the 2013 SEC Tournament, clinches bid to March Madness

Well the NCAA Tournament bubble just got a little easier to picture (and that epic twitter spat between Tim Brando and Doug Gottlieb is now moot) as the Ole Miss Rebels, a team that came into today on the bubble to reach the 2013 NCAA Tournament, captured the SEC Tournament today in Nashville by defeating the top seeded Florida Gators, 66-63. This is the Rebels' first appearance in March Madness since 1981 and is only their second ever. They were led today by senior forward Murphy Holloway, who had a double-double with 23 points and 10 boards, and everybody's favorite, junior guard Marshall Henderson, who had 21 points.

Who should be the No. 1 overall seed in the 2013 NCAA Tournament?

Even as so much of the talk regarding Selection Sunday is focused on who gets in and who gets left out in the cold, the discussion regarding who gets the No. 1 overall seed is very important. After all, the No. 1 overall seed is essentially set in place as the favorite to win it all and thus is rewarded with what is considered to be the "easiest" road to the championship by the selection committee. And in my opinion, there is only one choice to get the top overall seed, and that team is the Louisville Cardinals.

Pacific wins the Big West Tournament and is headed to the 2013 NCAA Tournament

For the first time since the 2006 Tournament, Pacific is headed to the Big Dance. The Tigers held a big lead at halftime and they were able to hold off a feisty UC Irvine club to win the 2013 Big West Tournament by a 64-55 final and they will head to the NCAA's for the ninth time. And what a great way for coach Bob Thomason, who is coaching his final season at the Stockton program, and he will get the chance to coach the Tigers in his fifth NCAA Tournament.

Northwestern State wins the Southland Tourney, advances to 2013 NCAA Tournament

Remember this? Could it happen again? Well there will be that chance for the Demons for Northwestern State as they won the 2013 Southland Tournament in an upset over the favorite Stephen F. Austin, 68-66. It certainly was not easy as the Lumberjacks had a chance to win the game late in the second half but the Demons forced a turnover to seal the victory. This is that program's first tournament appearance since that big upset over Iowa back in 2006 and while it may be a little much to expect that again, that's the beauty of March Madness, eh?

Montana wins the 2013 Big Sky Tournament, advances to March Madness

The Grizzlies are going dancing for the second year in a row. Montana came into the 2013 Big Sky Tournament looking to hold serve and defend their conference championship and they were able to do so this evening by defeating the Weber State Wildcats 67-64 to win the automatic bid. It certainly was not easy, despite being on their home floor, as Weber played tough and it was a close one throughout but it was the explosive scoring by upperclassmen guards Kareem Jamar, who had 20, and Will Cherry, who had 18 and nailed a big three and hit a pair of free throws late to help seal the deal. This will be Montana's tenth appearance in the Big Dance.
