A horrible crash ends the Drive4COPD 250, leaves spectators injured
In one of the craziest and scariest crashes that I have ever seen with a NASCAR race, a wild one ended the NASCAR Nationwide Series opener today, the Drive4COPD 250 at Daytona International Speedway. A massive crash occured at the exit of turn four when the leader, Regan Smith, was turned and crashed into the wall head first. Multiple cars were involved, with none more notable than that of the 32 of rookie Kyle Larson, whose car went into the catch fence and it resulted in the entire front-end of his car being torn off and hurled towards spectators, with the car's engine ended up stuck in the fence. Amazingly, Larson was okay, as were the other drivers involved. There are differing reports on the amount of spectators that were injured, with Jayski reporting that 11 spectators are being treated at a local hospital with two being critically injured, four on trauma alert and five being treated as non-trauma cases

Therefore, this week into this weekend at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis will play a key role in where the top prospects will go come the draft in two months. So here is my 2013 NFL Mock Draft, pre-Combine edition.

Check out Jose Canseco pontificating about gravity and hating on Bill Nye
Yes, I was as shocked as you were when I saw this on the fantastic site that is Mediaite. As we all know, Jose Canseco is insane. So we he decided to shoot out his theories regarding gravity, we knew we were in the process of witnessing a train wreck. Then Bill Nye the Science Guy decided to get in the mix and everything was gravy. Let's break it down.
Why it is a great thing that ESPN is going to part with Bob Knight
Our good friend Jason McIntyre of The Big Lead has reported that Bob Knight's contract is up at the end of this season with ESPN and that he is as good as gone. Sources said that ESPN is burying him on terrible games and he was taken off College Gameday this season. And I am going to be honest, this is a great development.
This dispute between Wale and Raptors announcer Matt Devlin is absurd

After the passing of Jerry Buss, what is next for the Lakers?
![]() |
| January 23, 1933 - February 18, 2013 |
There are few owners that have seen the success that Buss has seen during his ownership tenure. The Lakers won ten title during his ownership and became the iconic team in Southern California and known by one nickname, "Showtime." From Kareem Abdul-Jabbar and Magic Johnson to Shaquille O'Neal and Kobe Bryant, the Lakers have solidified their position as one of the pillar clubs of the league and they owe much of it to Buss, a man who came from nothing. Buss was inducted into the Basketball Hall of Fame in 2010.
After this sad passing, what is next for the Lakers?
Watch Reggie Miller credit Bleacher Report for an ESPN story
As we already know, Reggie Miller is a really awful analyst and why TNT continues to employ him and give him big assignments, since 2005 no less, is a mystery to us all. Keeping that in mind, with a little more than two minutes to go in last night's NBA All-Star Game, Miller noted a Bleacher Report article with an interview with Michael Jordan regarding LeBron James's game. There was one problem, the Bleacher Report story was quoting a piece by ESPN's Wright Thompson, which Miller never mentioned. Let's go to the videotape.

What to make of Danica Patrick winning the Daytona 500 pole
History was made today during pole qualifying for the Daytona 500. After putting together a lap time of 45.817 seconds around Daytona International Speedway, Danica Patrick became the first woman to win a pole for a Sprint Cup Series race, and just the third overall in NASCAR history as well as the first rookie polesitter since Jimmie Johnson in 2002 of the 500, when she edged out Jeff Gordon for the right to lead the field to the green flag next Sunday. Patrick was considered a favorite after she ran the fastest lap in the second practice session on Saturday afternoon and this should keep her the focus all week after her relationship with fellow rookie Ricky Stenhouse, Jr. was much-publicized last week.
So what should we make of Patrick's historic lap?

Watch the best dunks from the 2013 NBA Dunk Contest
It certainly is not going to rival 1988 in the annals of the all-time great Dunk Contests, particularly with all those misses and mishaps and Nick Cannon, but there certainly was some impressive dunks Saturday night in Houston as Terrence Ross outdueled reigning champ Jeremy Evans for the title. Here is what stood out as the best dunks of the evening.
