2013 NFL on CBS Schedule

As the schedule for the 2013 NFL season was just released by the league, here is the schedule for the NFL on CBS. As like last year I will include commentators for each and every game this season on this page as well as for every week during the season, in which I will also include distribution splits. 1. When will the announcers be posted for the games?

    1. We won't find out the crews until August in all likelihood and thus the first week not long thereafter.

      Delete
    2. Even the announcers are not told their schedule more than 3-4 weeks ahead....

      Delete
    3. That's not necessarily true, I know at least the Fox guys often have their schedules through around mid season.

      Delete
    4. I have first-hand knowledge that the CBS analysts only know 2-3 games out. CBS puts their best analysts on the most important games. As the season goes on, and teams that move to the top of the ranks, they schedule the most experienced analysts to the winning teams.

      Delete
    5. Case in point.....Just look at the schedule above... do you see any Analysts names after this weekend?

  2. Though it's still early, I don't see anyone other than duo of Jim Nantz & Phil Simms calling the Broncos/Giants game in Week 2 - a.k.a. "The Manning Bowl."

    ReplyDelete
  3. Well, I've watched with the sound off before.

    ReplyDelete
  4. Well, we can make predictions for the first 4 weeks

  5. I know that Jim & Phil will head to Dallas in week 5 for the Broncos/Cowboys game

    ReplyDelete

    1. I'm thinking that Nantz and Simms are doing the Patriots-Bengals game while Gumbel and Dierdorf are doing the Broncos-Cowboys games and I'm pretty sure that Nantz/Simms are doing the Broncos-Giants game.

    2. Gumbel/Dierdorf will be in Cincinnati. Nantz/Simms will be in Dallas.

    1. Sure. Week 7:
      Bengals vs. Lions Albert, Gannon
      Chargers vs. Jaguars Dedes, Beuerlein
      Texans vs. Chiefs Harlan, Wilcots
      Bills vs. Dolphins Macatee, Tasker
      Patriots vs. Jets Gumbel, Dierdorf

      Ravens vs. Steelers Nantz, Simms
      Browns vs. Packers Eagle, Fouts

      Week 8:
      Browns vs. Chiefs Harlan, Wilcots
      Dolphins vs. Patriots Nantz, Simms
      Bills vs. Saints Albert, Gannon
      Jets vs. Bengals Eagle, Fouts
      Steelers vs. Raiders Gumbel, Dierdorf

      Delete
    2. I think it's going to be Macatee and Tasker for the Browns-Packer game. There were no regional Packer games last year.

      Delete
  7. Im Saying Jim & Phil Will Do The Broncos Cowboys Game Week 5

    ReplyDelete
  8. Now that its in-fact going to be EJ vs Geno, is there a chance that Jim & Phil will do the Jets/Bills game week 3? Or is Colts/49ers to big of a game?

    ReplyDelete

    1. None at all and of course it's the later. Why would the top CBS crew foresake a strong matchup for bottom feeders in their division?

  9. Browns vs Jets December 22 FYI

    ReplyDelete
  10. I do not know why the Jet/Bengal game is not a MNF game.... I mean c'mon, who wants to see Sea/St.louis on MNF? I'd rather see NYJ/CIN

    ReplyDelete
  11. There is a possibility that Jim & Phil going to do the Tennessee/Seattle Game October 13

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Actually Greg and Dan will be calling the Titans-Seahawks game as I was watching the Patriots-Bengal game.

      Delete
  12. If the Bills were to win 2 of the next three games would they get Nantz/Simms for the Saints game or is the best they could get is Gumbel/Dierdorf

    ReplyDelete
  13. Who will be calling the Chargers-Raiders game in Week 5, now that it has been moved from CBS to the NFL Network, as well as from 1:25 p.m. PDT to 8:35 p.m. PDT (due to the Oakland Athletics' game the previous night)?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. It will be Eagle and Fouts and I believe it will be an NFL Network production.

      Delete
  14. Why did you strike the Chargers-Raiders game?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. It was moved to an 11:30 Eastern kick as I wrote due to the A's playing a game the day before in order to have enough time to convert the stadium from baseball to football configuration. It will be on NFL Network but will still be called by Eagle and Fouts.

      Delete
    2. I think that the Oakland Athletics should find a new stadium.

      Delete
    3. Quite frankly they both need one badly.

      Delete
  15. How come its Ian/Dan instead of Jim and Phil for week 7 for BAL/PIT? That is a great rivalry much so from HOU/KC

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Because the Steelers are awful and Houston-KC is a stronger game

      Delete
  16. What's with Bill Cowher, Shannon Sharpe, and Boomer Esiason on the sidelines? And who would be hosting the pregame/halftime/postgame show if not James Brown and who would be the analysts?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. CBS decided to send them out and call games featuring their old teams mostly to generate a little publicity for an awful slate. Unless I have incorrect intel, those three will be replaced by Bart Scott and Amy Trask from That Other Pregame Show on CBSSN, so there's a little cross-promotion to top it off. Marino will still be in studio also.

      Delete
  17. Week 8 doesnt make sense..... why would Ian/Dan do KC/CLE instead of NYJ/CIN?

    ReplyDelete
  18. Can anyone make a prediction on the Steelers-Packer game in week 16 if it is not Jim Nantz/Phil Simms?

    ReplyDelete
  19. Replies
    1. Chiefs vs. Bills (Marv Albert, Rich Gannon)
Titans vs. Rams (Kevin Harlan, Soloman Wilcots)
Chargers vs. Redskins (Greg Gumble, Dan Dierdorf)

      4:25
Steelers vs. Patriots (Jim Nantz, Phill Simms)
Ravens vs. Browns (Ian Eagle, Dan Fouts)

      Delete
  20. I predict Gumbel/Dierdorf for Bengals-Ravens in Week 10.

    ReplyDelete
  21. Even though we haven't got that far, I'll just say it anyway because it's obvious; I am thinking that Nantz and Simms may call the Steelers-Packers game because they are known for calling Patriots and Steelers games. At least Nantz called his first Viking game since either the early 90s or late 80s. He called the Steelers-Viking game with Phil Simms.

    ReplyDelete
  22. who do you think will do the giants/raiders game

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Probably Gumbel/Dierdorf.

      Delete
    2. I doubt it because of how bad the giants are even if they usually call giants games on cbs. My best guess would be the Eagle/Fouts crew.

      Delete
  23. Week 9 predictions (aside from Baltimore @ Cleveland):

    Pittsburgh @ New England - Nantz/Simms
    San Diego @ Washington - Gumbel/Dierdorf
    Kansas City @ Buffalo - Eagle/Fouts
    Tennessee & St. Louis - Albert/Gannon

  24. Is Don Criqui not calling any games at all?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Nope, it will be the first time in a very long time. I think it was Pete Dougherty of the Times-Union that reported it and I would guess if there are 8 games, Andrew Catalon would call that 8th game.

      Delete
    2. But what about Randy Cross; will he still call games and who would it be? And is Don Criqui retired, even from Notre Dame Football?

      Delete
    3. If there is no 8 regional games, Randy Cross will join Solomon Wilcots as the fifth team with Kevin Harlan.

      Delete
    4. Why is Randy Cross not calling any games at all? Since rejoining CBS, he worked with Verne Lundquist for one year and then moved to the studio to work with Jim Nantz, Mike Ditka, and I think Deion Sanders. After moving back to the booth, he has been paired with Kevin Harlan until 2006 through 2008 he worked with Dick Enberg and in 2008 sometimes they were joined by Dan Fouts. Then in 2009 he was the #8 commentator with Don Criqui, then worked with Spero Dedes for one year in 2010, and then from 2011 through 2012 he worked with Criqui again. He previously worked with Charlie Jones for NBC and worked with Criqui on also Patriots preseason games. He has also worked with Brad Johansen, Gus Johnson (who was Enberg's substitute while Enberg called the U.S. Open tennis tournament), and Craig Bolerjack as well as Jim Nantz, Sean McDonough, Brad Nessler, James Brown, and Dick Stockton.

    1. **NO QUESTION** that Nantz/Simms will call Kansas City @ Denver, since that game has been protected (by CBS) from being flexed to Sunday night. It's a toss-up as to whether Gumbel/Dierdorf will call San Diego @ Miami or Baltimore @ Chicago - the latter game is an SNF-flex possibility.

  46. If Bill Macatee had trouble getting around due to ice storm out of Dallas, when he should have an assignment with Steve Tasker on the west coast, would the world Dick Enberg called the western half of the country while Don Criqui called the eastern half of the country?

    1. They cant announce the week 17 announcers until NBC selects there game for next Sunday night. That wont happen until this Sunday night or Monday morning. As far as my picks and Mars picks are concerned, if im lookiong at it right, we only disagree on what game Ian Eagle and Marv Albert do. Everything else we agree on

  53. I'm very surprised that Randy Cross did not call any games at all last season. With Jim Nantz and Phil Simms doing Thursday Night Football next season, I wonder who would be the announcers, including the retired Dan Dierdorf?
