2013 West Coast Conference Tournament Predictions

In what is the first of several tournaments in Las Vegas the next two weeks (although semantically speaking this is in Paradise), the West Coast Conference Tournament commences their tournament on Wednesday at the Orleans Hotal and Casino. Gonzaga is clearly the heavy favorite but could Saint Mary's pull a surprise, if not somebody else? Since I do have a stated goal of doing predictions for every conference tournament, here are my predictions for the 2013 WCC Tourney.

1st Round - March 6
#8 Portland vs. #9 Loyola Marymount (BYUtv, 9:00)

2nd Round - March 7
#5 San Francisco vs. #8 Portland (BYUtv, 9:00)
Pick: Portland

#6 San Diego vs. #7 Pepperdine (BYUtv, 11:30)
Pick: San Diego

Quarterfinals - March 8
#4 Santa Clara vs. #8 Portland (ESPNU, 9:00)
Pick: Santa Clara

#3 BYU vs. #6 San Diego (ESPNU, 11:30)
Pick: BYU

Semifinals - March 9
#1 Gonzaga vs. #4 Santa Clara (ESPN2, 9:00)
Pick: Gonzaga

#2 Saint Mary's vs. #3 BYU (ESPN2, 11:30)
Pick: Saint Mary's

Final - March 11
#1 Gonzaga vs. #2 Saint Mary's (ESPN, 9:00)
It's going to be really tough for anybody to knock out the Zags and don't get me wrong, the Gaels are really good, but they are not on the level of Gonzaga as they lost their two matchups by an average of 11 points.
