2013 Summit League Tournament Predictions

Have you ever been to Sioux Falls? I haven't, but I am intrigued so if you have and you know it is great, leave a comment below. That said, since I am doing predictions for each and every conference tournament this year because I felt like doing so, here are my predictions for the 2013 Summit League Tournament.

Quarterfinals - March 9/10
#1 South Dakota State vs. #8 IUPUI (3/9; FCS/Midco Sports Net, 6:00)
Pick: South Dakota State

#4 Oakland vs. #5 IPFW (3/10; FCS/Midco Sports Net, 6:00)
Pick: IPFW

#2 Western Illinois vs. #7 South Dakota (3/9; FCS/Midco Sports Net, 8:30)
Pick: Western Illinois

#3 North Dakota State vs. (6) UMKC (3/10; FCS/Midco Sports Net, 8:30)
Pick: North Dakota State

Semifinals - March 11
#1 South Dakota State vs. #5 IPFW (FCS/Midco Sports Net, 6:00)
Pick: South Dakota State

#2 Western Illinois vs. #3 North Dakota State (FCS/Midco Sports Net, 8:30)
Pick: Western Illinois

Final - 12
#1 South Dakota State vs. #2 Western Illinois (ESPN2, 8:00)
This one should be fun as South Dakota State excels at scoring (35th in the country) while Western Illinois is fantastic at shutting other teams down (2nd in the country). However. the Jackrabbits have bested the Leathernecks twice this year and I think they will do so once more.

  1. wiu's best player is questionable for the tournament and will not 100%. they have struggled without him. usd will have some fans and i think they take down the depleted leathernecks. ndsu's best player taylor braun is back after being out a month and a half. ndsu over sdsu in the final
