2013 Mountain West Tournament Predictions

There may be four tournaments taking place in Las Vegas but none has been there as long as long as the Mountain West has and considering how strong the conference has been all season long, none may be as competitive and exciting. Over half the league could end up in the NCAA's, particularly if Boise State has a good week. Plus, who doesn't love Reese's? Anyways, here are my predictions for the 2013 Mountain West Tournament.

1st Round - March 12
#8 Wyoming vs. #9 Nevada (5:00)
Pick: Wyoming

Quarterfinals - March 13
#3 UNLV vs. #6 Air Force (CBS Sports Network, 3:00)
The Runnin' Rebels may have the homecourt advantage, but I'm feeling an upset by Air Force, who split with them and beat them by 15 a month ago.
Pick: Air Force

#2 Colorado State vs. #7 Fresno State (CBS Sports Network, 5:30)
Pick: Colorado State

#1 New Mexico vs. #8 Wyoming (CBS Sports Network, 9:30)
The Cowboys played New Mexico close all year but they do not have the offensive firepower for an upset.
Pick: New Mexico

#4 San Diego State vs. #5 Boise State (CBS Sports Network, 12:00 am)
These two have played tight all year but the urgency, and the most recent win, leans to the Broncos.
Pick: Boise State

Semifinals - March 15
#2 Colorado State vs. #6 Air Force (CBS Sports Network, 9:00)
Air Force's run will be cut off at the knees by a really good Rams club, led by the double-double threat in Colton Iverson.
Pick: Colorado State

#1 New Mexico vs. #5 Boise State (CBS Sports Network, 11:30)
Boise State scores a lot of points, but you can't score on the Lobos and an inconsistent Broncos defense will hurt.
Pick: New Mexico

Final - March 16
#1 New Mexico vs. #2 Colorado State (CBS, 6:00)
While CSU's offense may struggle against a strong UNM defense, their strong defense should be good enough to keep the Lobos in check.
Pick: Colorado State
