Eddie George is part of the FOX College Football studio with Erin Andrews and Lions great Joey Harrington and while doing the highlights of Sacramento State's upset of Colorado, he had a great mixup when trying to say "One second left on the clock." Let's go to the videotape.

Can the surging Angels get into the playoffs?

The Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim are one of the hottest teams in baseball, going 8-2 in their last ten. They just completed a three-game sweep of the Oakland Athletics in Oakland. They sit 2.5 games back of the Wild Card, can they get themselves into the postseason?

2012 MLB on FOX: Announcers & Distribution: September 8th

You won't be seeing any of this craziness but the point is, the Dodgers and the Giants truly hate each other. Plus, this matchup of Los Angeles and San Francisco has a lot of playoff implications. While the Dodgers probably will not catch the Giants in the division (although you never know), they are right in the mix for the National League Wild Card and a win this Saturday on FOX will certainly not hurt. That will be the national game, while others will see the Atlanta Braves take on the New York Mets in Flushing Meadows while the Chicago White Sox will welcome the Kansas City Royals to the South Side. Who will make the Chase on Saturday night?

Saturday night in Richmond, Virginia is the final race before the field is set for the Chase for the Sprint Cup. Ten drivers have already clinched Chase berths with all but one locked into the top ten (Tony Stewart could fall out of the top ten in points but still is guaranteed a Wild Card slot due to his three wins). Kasey Kahne has not clinched a Chase spot but he will if he wins, if Stewart stays in the top ten or if he finished 13th or higher (14th with one lap led and 15th with most laps led). So long story short, there is one spot available. So who will get the last spot at the Federated Auto Parts 400?

With today's loss to Juan Martin del Petro in the fourth round Wednesday 6-7, 7-6, 6-2, 6-3, Andy Roddick's tennis career has come to a close. Six days ago, the 30-year-old announced that the 2012 US Open would be his final tournament. So what is Roddick's legacy?

2012 College Football Week 2 Picks

We are just getting into the 2012 College Football season as we are now in the second week. There are not many huge matchups like we had last week with the Michigan-Alabama showdown but we do have two intriguing SEC matchups featuring the two new members of conference, Texas A&M and Missouri, hosting two established conference powers, with Florida going to Kyle Field in College Station and Georgia going to Faurot Field in Columbia. Here are my week 2 predictions.

Check out this awesome between the legs shot at the U.S. Open

Doing anything between the legs in sports is pretty impressive so when Bob Bryan, in the third round in the Men's Doubles tournament at the U.S. Open, goes between his legs at point to win a tiebreaker point in the second set in a match the Bryan brothers, ranked second, would go on to win, it's pretty darn cool. Let's go to the videotape.

NFL Coaches on the Hot Seat in 2012

Although not as frequent as in college football for obvious reasons, the coaching carousel can get a little active at times in the NFL and thus there are always coaches who have themselves on the proverbial hot seat. What coaches could be coaching for their jobs in 2012? Here is a look.

2012 NFL Week 1 Picks

That is correct, friends, the NFL is back. No more of this preseason nonsense, it is back to real football. The 2012 NFL campaign will begin at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford as the New York Giants start their title defense by hosting one of their heated rivals, the Dallas Cowboys. Every team has a chance to make the playoffs right now as everyone is 0-0. Who will start their season on the right foot?

Here are my predictions for week one.

Are the Yankees in danger of blowing a playoff spot?

On July 18, the New York Yankees led the American League East by ten games over the Baltimore Orioles and sat at 57-34. It is the second of September and New York is leading the division by two games over Baltimore after losing today 8-3 at Yankee Stadium. The Yanks are only 3.5 clear of missing the playoffs, with the way they are trending, are they in real danger of missing the postseason for the first time since the old Yankee Stadium closed?

Can the Ohio Bobcats go undefeated?

Was Ohio beating Penn State yesterday really that much of an upset? Yes it is a MAC team going into a Big Ten venue and beating a Big Ten team but this is a Penn State team that lost a lot thanks to NCAA sanctions while this is a very good Bobcats team, one that returned 13 starters, including quarterback Taylor Tettleton, from a 10-win team a year ago. Yeah it probably still was an upset but anyways, that's not the point of this post.

The Bobcats are somewhat of a trendy pick to go undefeated. In fact, just ask Sports Illustrated's Stewart Mandel and Holly Anderson. So with what may have been their biggest test of the season out of the way, could the Bobcats run the table?

Why the NFL has no leverage with the Referees' Association

Yesterday morning, it was announced that the NFL Referees' Association had broken off labor negotiations with the NFL and with no additional meetings scheduled between the two, it means that as the regular season is only a week away, we are going to be subjected to replacement referees for the near future.

While both sides continue to be at a standstill over issues such as salary, retirement benefits as well as the NFL's desires to make one full time refereeing crew, it has become clear that the league holds less leverage than they think that they do.
