It was a tight one throughout in Boston in the East Regional Final of the 2012 NCAA Tournament but it was Jared Sullinger and the Ohio State Buckeyes, the second seed in the East, who came out on top by defeating the top seeded Syracuse Orange 77-70 to advance to the Final Four down in New Orleans. It was a balanced effort by the Buckeyes as Sullinger led the way with 19 points, Lenzelle Smith made some key shots and had 18, Deshaun Thomas had 14 and 9, William Buford had 13 and 9 and while Aaron Craft did not contribute much offensively with only five points but was a big reason why Dion Waiters, the top player on the Orange, had an off night. The Buckeyes will take on either the Kansas Jayhawks Saturday, with the winner advancing to the National Championship Game.
Verne Lundquist and Bill Raftery had the call at TD Garden and they have the game recap.

2012 Elite Eight Predictions
The field of 68 has been whittled down all the way to eight. The winners of the four remaining games will head on down to the Big Easy and the Final Four at the Superdome. Who will win the four regional finals and survive and advance to New Orleans? Here are my picks for the Elite Eight.

Where I would host the 2014 NCAA Tournament
We know where the 2014 Final Four will be held, at Cowboys Stadium in Arlington, Texas. But we do not know where the eight sub-regionals and the four regionals would be held. Here are my suggestions.

Baylor's Quincy Acy with the best dunk of the 2012 NCAA Tournament
In the first regional semifinal in the South region tonight in Atlanta, the Baylor Bears, while Xavier made it a game at times, really did not have much problem with the underdog Musketeers, winning 75-70 to advance to the Elite Eight. A big reason for their victory was the senior forward Quincy Acy, who had 20 points and 15 boards. He also had the best dunk of the tournament. A pretty good performance, eh? Let's go to the videotape.

Pat Robertson on Tebow trade: Broncos deserve injury to Peyton Manning
Not sure that I would ever have a post on this blog relating to Pat Robertson but here it is. Unsurprisingly, the famed and controversial televangelist is a fan of Tim Tebow. So he probably was not a big fan of the Broncos trading him to the New York Jets. And thus he made some questionable comments about the Broncos' new quarterback, Peyton Manning. Let's go to the videotape.
Watch the Minnesota Timberwolves perform some Britney Spears
We've seen the Timberwolves rock some major karaoke action earlier with some N'SNYC. And thus, because of the obvious connection from Justin Timberlake to Britney Spears, we know have video of them "performing" the classic track, "...Baby One More Time." Let's go to the greatness.

Why Illinois should considering hiring Reggie Theus
Illinois been looking for a big-name to replace the fired Bruce Weber to help return the Fighting Illini back to glory but after getting snubbed by VCU coach Shaka Smart, are back to square one. Here's one name to consider: Reggie Theus. And here is why.
Watch Mike Francesa flip out on a caller because he hates the Tebow trade to the Jets
I'm sure this was inevitable. Nevertheless it is still hilarious. We all know about the trade the Jets made for Tim Tebow and boy, Francesa was not a fan of it. So of course he's going to go off on a caller calling him out for hating on the Jets. It was just made to happen. Let's go to the videotape.
Why the penalties levied on the Saints are fair and just
The NFL has dropped the hammer on the New Orleans Saints organization as a result of the so-called "Bountygate" scandal that broke a few weeks ago. The league suspended head coach Sean Payton for a full season without pay, general manager Mickey Loomis for eight games without pay, Saints assistant head coach and linebackers coach Joe Vitt, who was going to be the interim coach, has been suspended for six games and fined $100,000, the Saints lose second round picks in 2012 and 2013 and are fined $500,000 and former Saints and current Rams defensive coordinator Gregg Williams, who spearheaded the bounty system, has been suspended indefinitely. Here's my take on the penalties.
Tim Tebow traded to the New York Jets analysis
UPDATE: Adam Schefter has reported that the trade has reportedly hit a snag due to a clause in Tebow's contract where he has a $6.2 million advance, which Denver has already paid $1.2 million. The remaining $5 million would have to be paid by the Jets, who feel that Denver is obligated to give the $5 million. Stay tuned, as it appears the Jaguars have gotten in the mix as well.
UPDATE 2: No worries folks, Tebow is now officially going to...New York. Hurrah.
We were wondering what would happen to Tim Tebow after the Denver Broncos signed Peyton Manning and now we know that according to Jay Glazer, who broke the story, Tebowmania is New York bound. The Jets have agreed to send a fourth round pick to Denver for Tebow. Here's my analysis of the trade.

A Jamaal Tinsley sighting, goes through the legs of Nazr Mohammed
Jamaal Tinsley, remember him? Well this season he pretty much came back from the dead with the Utah Jazz and he made an absolutely brilliant play "nutmegging" Nazr Mohammed and then hitting a wide-open jumper. The terrible Craig Bolerjack all but last his mind with the call. Let's go to the videotape.

2012 NFL Mock Draft: 11th Edition
Once free agency begins and teams fill some holes by signing guys, the NFL Draft becomes even more interesting as teams may have filled a need that they were thought to fill in the draft. And thus, remaining needs are magnified. Obviously the biggest move of the offseason is the Broncos signing Peyton Manning with other moves of note being Mario Williams signing with Buffalo, Cortland Finnegan signing with Seattle, Vincent Jackson signing with Tampa Bay, Brandon Carr signing with Dallas and Matt Flynn signing with Seattle. How do these signings affect the 2012 NFL Draft? Let us ponder with my 11th mock draft of the season.

The best NBA bloopers from the first half of the 2012-12 season
Remember those great videos from NFL Films called Football Follies? How can you not love that stuff. Anyways, the NBA put together a hilarious video with the best bloopers from the first half of the season thus far. Because we all love missed dunks and terrible free throw attempts. Let's go to the videotape.
Watch the Rangers and Devils have a brawl off the opening faceoff
You could say that the New York Rangers and the New Jersey Devils really hate each other, because they absolutely do, I can attest to that. So of course in their rivalry game on Tuesday night at Madison Square Garden three fights would break out off the opening faceoff, because why not? Let's go to the videotape.
2012 MLB Season Predictions
What a 2011 MLB season it was, culminating in the St. Louis Cardinals coming out on top of the baseball world in the World Series over the Texas Rangers. How do I see the 2012 season turning out? Here's my preview and predictions for the 2012 Major League Baseball season.
2012 Sweet Sixteen Predictions
Sixteen college basketball programs are left in the 2012 NCAA Tournament. After what has been a wild tourney thus far, we've had some surprising teams get to the regional semifinals as well as almost half of the teams still alive being from within two hours of Cincinnati, including four teams from the Buckeye State. Who will survive and advance to the Elite Eight with a chance to get to New Orleans?
Peyton Manning to sign with the Denver Broncos
The biggest free agent to hit the market in a long time is headed to the Mile High City. According to Chris Mortensen and Adam Schefter, Peyton Manning is going to become the next starting quarterback for the Denver Broncos. After being released by the Colts two weeks ago, everyone that needed a quarterback had their eyes upon Manning and the favorites were whittled down to Denver, San Francisco and Tennessee. What this signing means after the break.
Wait, Charles Barkley likes hardcore porn?
So while the NCAA Tournament crew on CBS was signing off for the night, studio host Ernie Johnson was telling the viewers what was up next on truTV, which was Hardcore Pawn. And as everyone knows, the title for that show, as well as one my favorites, Pawn Stars, it's like saying porn in its place. So then Charles Barkley made an interesting comment about how he was excited to see that, except as something else. Let's go to the videotape.

Who are the finalists for the Naismith Trophy? And who's going to win it?
At halftime of Creighton-North Carolina, the four finalists for the Naismith Trophy, the trophy awarded to the top college basketball player of the year, were announced. Here are the finalists as well as my prediction as to who will win.
What Matt Flynn signing with the Seahawks means for the Dolphins and Browns
Free agency has been going on for about a week now and one of the biggest prizes was Matt Flynn, the backup quarterback for the Green Bay Packers who has dazzled when gotten the opportunity to get on the field. Many teams were gunning for him, particularly considering teams that were out of the running in the Peyton Manning sweepstakes, and the team that he has chosen is the Seattle Seahawks, as reported by Jason La Canfora. So what does this signing mean?

Because nothing is cheesier than One Shining Moment. So why not have Norfolk State's Kyle O'Quinn, the biggest reason why the Spartans upset the Missouri Tigers in a 15-2 upset, perform the classic? Pure gold, friends. Let's go to the videotape.
