one of the teams in the BCS National Championship Game and the other team will be determined this Saturday afternoon in Atlanta with the SEC Championship Game. Will Nick Saban's Crimson Tide make a repeat appearance in the title game or will Mark Richt's Bulldogs play for their first title in 30 years? Here are my week 14 selections.
AP Poll rankings
Thursday, November 29
Louisville vs. Rutgers (ESPN, 8:00)
Both of these clubs were disappointing last week and Teddy Bridgewater will probably not be 100%. That said, Rutgers looked so bad against Pittsburgh that I think the Cardinals will win the conference.
Friday, November 30
These two teams have been damn impressive this year, especially Kent State. I think it will be a hell of a game but I like the experience of NIU.
Pick: Northern Illinois
David Shaw has the Cardinal completely rolling and while I think the Bruins will play closer this time around, I still like Stanford, this time at home.
Saturday, December 1
Yes Tulsa is coming off a disappointing loss to SMU but I still love their offense and I don't think the Knights are as wide open on offense.
(12) Oklahoma vs. TCU (ESPN, 12:00)
If TCU had the kind of defense they had the last few years, this would be interesting.
(24) Oklahoma State vs. Baylor (FX, 12:00)
If this game has less than 100 combined points, that would be a mild surprise. That said, I think the quarterback carousel of the Cowpokes will be good enough to win.
Pick: Oklahoma State
Kansas vs. West Virginia (FOX Sports Networks, 2:30)
Now that the Mountaineers finally got off the schneid, they will finish on a high note.
Pick: West Virginia
Nicholls State vs. (16) Oregon State (Pac-12 Network, 2:30)
Pick: Oregon State
Middle Tennessee vs. Arkansas State (3:00)
With the Sun Belt title in the balance, give me the explosive Red Wolves.
Pick: Arkansas State
(25) Boise State vs. Nevada (ABC, 3:30)
You know, I've watched the Broncos a few times this year and I have not been impressed. I like Nevada to surprise with an upset.
Cincinnati vs. UConn (ABC, 3:30)
Can the Huskies do it again this week? Not quite.
This should be a good one because the Bulldogs have been awesome since the blowout loss to South Carolina and Aaron Murray is a sensational quarterback. That said, they are not quite as deep at the Tide.
Pittsburgh vs. South Florida (ESPN2, 7:00)
Look for Pitt to get to a bowl game.
(13) Florida State vs. Georgia Tech (ESPN, 7:45)
Georgia Tech is awful. If they win this game, I will be speechless.
Pick: Florida State
Wisconsin got lucky their division was a joke this year. While Montee Ball will keep them in it throughout, their mediocre passing game will kill them.
(23) Texas vs. (7) Kansas State (ABC, 8:00)
Kansas State certainly did not play the way they wanted to in the upset loss to Baylor but I still think this is a very good team and Collin Klein is a heck of a player and they will close out with a nice win.
Pick: Kansas State
