No Oprah appearances are required now for Manti Te'o and the Notre Dame Fighting Irish to get to the BCS National Championship Game because after all the madness on Saturday night with both Oregon and Kansas State losing, all they have to do is win Saturday night in Los Angeles are they will be playing for all the marbles. Will they get it done or come up just shy? It's my week 13 selections.
AP Poll
Tuesday, November 20
Akron vs. Toledo (ESPN2, 7:00)
Pick: Toledo
Thursday, November 22
TCU vs. (18) Texas (ESPN, 7:30)
TCU will come out swinging after the bye but I'll take the Longhorns.
Pick: Texas
Friday, November 23
Syracuse vs. Temple (ESPN2, 11:00 am)
Montel Harris will keep Temple close but the Orange are hot right now.
Pick: Syracuse
Ohio vs. (23) Kent State (ESPN2, 11:00 am)
What happened to Ohio? It seemed just so recently they were undefeated.
Pick: Kent State
(17) Nebraska vs. Iowa (ABC, 12:00)
Iowa sucks.
Pick: Nebraska
(24) Northern Illinois vs. Eastern Michigan (ESPN3, 1:00)
Pick: Northern Illinois
Marshall vs. East Carolina (CBS Sports Network, 2:00)
Pick: Marshall
(8) LSU vs. Arkansas (CBS, 2:30)
John L. Smith will go out with a bang, but not in a good way.
Pick: LSU
Utah vs. Colorado (FX, 3:00)
Pick: Utah
West Virginia vs. Iowa State (ABC, 3:30)
It has really hit the fan with the Mountaineers and it will continue this week in Ames.
Pick: West Virginia
Washington vs. Washington State (FOX, 3:30)
Pick: Washington
South Florida vs. Cincinnati (ESPN, 7:00)
Pick: Cincinnati
Arizona State vs. Arizona (ESPN, 10:30)
Good quarterback matchup but I like RichRod and co.
Pick: Arizona
Saturday, November 24
(20) Michigan vs. (4) Ohio State (ABC, 12:00)
I'll pick against the Buckeyes again. I love what the Wolverines are doing with Devin Gardner on offense and their defense is pretty solid.
Pick: Michigan
Georgia Tech vs. (3) Georgia (ESPN, 12:00)
You know, they may be going bowling, but the Yellow Jackets really are not that good.
Pick: Georgia
(21) Rutgers vs. Pittsburgh (ESPN2, 12:00)
Pick: Rutgers
Virginia vs. Virginia Tech (ESPNU, 12:00)
Didn't think it would come to this to become bowl eligible for the Hokies but alas.
Pick: Virginia Tech
Illinois vs. Northwestern (BTN, 12:00)
Pick: Northwestern
Indiana vs. Purdue (BTN, 12:00)
Pick: Purdue
Tulsa vs. SMU (FX, 12:00)
Expect a lot of passing yards, but SMU really is not that good, unfortunately.
Pick: Tulsa
UAB vs. UCF (FSN, 12:00)
Pick: UCF
UConn vs. (19) Louisville (Big East Network, 12:00)
Pick: Louisville
Kentucky vs. Tennessee (SEC Network, 12:00)
You know, I'd love to pick against Tennessee since Dooley finally got the axe, but Kentucky is just so bad...
Pick: Tennessee
Miami (FL) vs. Duke (ACC Network, 12:30)
Certainly Duke is Duke, they're on TV more than Leave It to Beaver reruns. I like the Canes to get to Charlotte.
Pick: Miami (FL)
North Texas vs. Western Kentucky (Sun Belt Network, 1:00)
Pick: Western Kentucky
Baylor vs. Texas Tech (FOX, 2:30)
Tech's performance last week was pretty disappointing. And if the Baylor have finally realized how to play defense...
Pick: Baylor
(5) Oregon vs. (16) Oregon State (Pac-12 Network, 3:00)
The Beavers are a very solid club with Oregon hungry for a win, they'll get it.
Pick: Oregon
Maryland vs. North Carolina (FSN regional, 3:00)
Pick: North Carolina
Boston College vs. N.C. State (ESPN3, 3:00)
Pick: N.C. State
Idaho vs. (25) Utah State (ESPN+, 3:00)
The Aggies have not been ranked since '78. Cool beans.
Pick: Utah State
(6) Florida vs. (10) Florida State (ABC, 3:30)
Looking at this matchup, I really think the Seminoles are much better. More varied offense and just as good on defense. Should be a fun one.
Pick: Florida State
Auburn vs. (2) Alabama (CBS, 3:30)
Auburn, hahahaha.
Pick: Alabama
(14) Oklahoma vs. (22) Oklahoma State (ESPN, 3:30)
I was very impressed with what I saw from the Cowboys against Texas Tech offensively but I think they lack the defensive speed to hang around with Oklahoma.
Pick: Oklahoma
Wisconsin vs. Penn State (ESPN2, 3:30)
I think the Badgers will pound the rock with Montee Ball and keep it out of Matt McGloin's hands.
Pick: Wisconsin
Vanderbilt vs. Wake Forest (ESPNU, 3:30)
I like the Demon Deacons in an upset to become bowl eligible.
Pick: Wake Forest
Air Force vs. Fresno State (NBC Sports Network, 3:30)
Fresno is awesome on offense and the Force is a little too sloppy for my tastes.
Pick: Fresno State
Michigan State vs. Minnesota (BTN, 3:30)
Pick: Michigan State
Tulane vs. Houston (FSN, 3:30)
Pick: Houston
BYU vs. New Mexico State (ESPN3, 3:30)
Pick: BYU
Troy vs. Middle Tennessee (ESPN3, 3:30)
Look for Troy to get an upset and become bowl eligible.
Pick: Troy
San Diego State vs. Wyoming (Root Sports Rocky Mountain, 4:00)
Pick: San Diego State
Southern Miss vs. Memphis (CSS, 4:30)
This is the last chance for the Golden Eagles to get their first win. Once again, I think they'll get it this week.
Pick: Southern Miss
South Alabama vs. Louisiana-Lafayette (Cox-Louisiana, 5:00)
Pick: Lousiana-Lafayette
(11) Stanford vs. (15) UCLA (FOX, 6:30)
This is a tough one, friends, but I have to lean with the Cardinal after that impressive upset road win against Oregon.
Pick: Stanford
(13) South Carolina vs. (12) Clemson (ESPN, 7:00)
South Carolina looked pretty inconsistent against Wofford and they still look without an element with Marcus Lattimore out. Give me the Tigers.
Pick: Clemson
Missouri vs. (9) Texas A&M (ESPN2, 7:00)
Mizzou needs this to go bowling, but it won't happen.
Pick: Texas A&M
(25) Mississippi State vs. Ole Miss (ESPNU, 7:00)
You know, Hugh Freeze has done great work thus far in Oxford and has a bright future ahead of him. That future, is not now.
Pick: Mississippi State
New Mexico vs. Colorado State (Root Sports Rock Mountain, 7:00)
Pick: Colorado State
Rice vs. UTEP (FOX College Sports, 7:00)
Pick: Rice
(1) Notre Dame vs. USC (ABC, 12:00)
You know I would consider the Trojans if I was certain Matt Barkley was going to play. But since I think he will ultimately sit out, and factoring in that USC cannot stop anybody on defense, I think Notre Dame is headed for Miami Gardens.
Pick: Notre Dame
Louisiana Tech vs. San Jose State (ESPN2, 10:30)
San Jose State is a good club, but they don't have the offensive firepower that the Bulldogs have.
Pick: San Jose State
UNLV vs. Hawaii (Pay-Per-View, 11:00)
Pick: UNLV
