2012 College Football Week 11 Picks

I don't even think Everett Golson knows how the Fighting Irish were able to rally and finally defeat the Pitt Panthers in three overtimes on Saturday to keep their national title hopes alive. Will they stumble again this week against a lowly Boston College club, who did knock off the Irish way back in 2002 when they were undefeated, or will the dream remain alive? Here are my week eleven collegiate selections.

Tuesday, November 6
Ball State vs. (23) Toledo (ESPN2, 8:00)
Have to love the Maction.
Pick: Toledo

Wednesday, November 7
Bowling Green vs. Ohio (ESPN2, 8:00)
Have to love the Maction.
Pick: Ohio

Thursday, November 8
Louisiana-Monroe vs. Arkansas State (ESPNU, 7:00)
Monroe disappointed in a loss to Lafayette but I think Kolton Browning and friends rebound this week.
Pick: Louisiana-Monroe

(8) Florida State vs. Virginia Tech (ESPN, 7:30)
You know, if Virginia Tech didn't suck...
Pick: Florida State

Friday, November 9
Pittsburgh vs. UConn (ESPN2, 8:00)
Pick: Pittsburgh

Saturday, November 10
Arkansas vs. (12) South Carolina (CBS, 12:00)
Arkansas has looked a little better of late but Spurrier will right the ship this week.
Pick: South Carolina

Northwestern vs. Michigan (ESPN, 12:00)
The Wolverines' defense will slow down Northwestern just enough for a close victory.
Pick: Michigan

Louisville vs. Syracuse (ABC, 12:00)
The Cards better not sleep, because the Carrier Dome is not easy to play in.
Pick: Louisville

Miami (FL) vs. Virginia (ABC, 12:00)
Pick: Miami (FL)

Wisconsin vs. Indiana (ESPN2, 12:00)
The Hoosiers' Rose Bowl hopes end here.
Pick: Wisconsin

Army vs. (24) Rutgers (ESPNU, 12:00)
Pick: Rutgers

Kansas vs. (25) Texas Tech (FSN, 12:00)
Pick: Texas Tech

Purdue vs. Iowa (BTN, 12:00)
Pick: Iowa

Iowa State vs. (19) Texas (Longhorn Network, 12:00)
Looks like the Longhorns may be getting their stuff together now and that is not a good sign for the Cyclones.
Pick: Texas

Louisiana-Lafayette vs. (7) Florida (SEC Network, 12:00)
Pick: Florida

Missouri vs. Tennessee (SEC Network, 12:00)
When you struggle to beat Troy, that is a problem. Of course Missouri ended up losing to Florida but their strong defensive line will get them to a victory.
Pick: Missouri

Cincinnati vs. Temple (Big East Network, 12:00)
Temple is feisty, I will give them that. But Cincinnati has the talent edge.
Pick: Cincinnati

Georgia Tech vs. North Carolina (ACC Network, 12:30)
Pick: North Carolina

Kent State vs. Miami (OH) (STO, 1:00)
Pick: Kent State

FAU vs. Western Kentucky (Sun Belt Network, 1:00)
Pick: Western Kentucky

Colorado vs. Arizona (FX, 1:30)
Pick: Arizona

(13) Oregon State vs. (16) Stanford (FOX, 3:00)
Oregon State will force Josh Nunes to beat them, and I have no confidence in him whatsoever.
Pick: Oregon State

Arizona State vs. (21) USC (Pac-12 Network, 3:00)
The Trojans really need a win and they will get one this week.
Pick: USC

Wake Forest vs. N.C. State (FSN regional, 3:00)
Pick: N.C. State

(15) Texas A&M vs. (1) Alabama (CBS, 3:30)
Johnny Football will make it interesting, for a little bit.
Pick: Alabama

West Virginia vs. Oklahoma State (ABC/ESPN2, 3:30)
800 passing yards? And West Virginia's slide has to end at some point, right?
Pick: West Virginia

Penn State vs. Nebraska (ABC/ESPN2, 3:30)
The Huskers are rolling and I think that run will continue here.
Pick: Nebraska

Maryland vs. (10) Clemson (ESPNU, 3:30)
Pick: Clemson

Baylor vs. (14) Oklahoma (FSN, 3:30)
Baylor's defense, can we even call it a defense?
Pick: Oklahoma

Minnesota vs. Illinois (BTN, 3:30)
Illinois sucks. Period.
Pick: Minnesota

Air Force vs. San Diego State (NBC Sports Network, 3:30)
Somebody explain to me how Air Force has lost to both Navy AND Army.
Pick: San Diego State

Wyoming vs. New Mexico (Comcast-New Mexico, 3:30)
Pick: New Mexico

San Jose State vs. New Mexico State (Aggie Vision, 3:30)
Pick: San Jose State

Marshall vs. UAB (CSS, 4:30)
Pick: MArshall

Tulsa vs. Houston (CBS Sports Network, 5:00)
Pick: Tulsa

(22) Mississippi State vs. (9) LSU (ESPN, 7:00)
Has Zach Mettenberger finally figured it out? I think he has.
Pick: LSU

(3) Kansas State vs. TCU (FOX, 7:00)
TCU certainly has some spunk offensively to scare the Wildcats. It will be close in Fort Worth.
Pick: Kansas State

(5) Georgia vs. Auburn (ESPN2, 7:00)
Auburn, hahaha.
Pick: Georgia

Vanderbilt vs. Ole Miss (ESPNU, 7:00)
Pick: Ole Miss

Boise State vs. Hawaii (NBC Sports Network, 7:00)
Pick: Boise State

Southern Miss vs. SMU (FSN, 7:00)
Pick: SMU

UCF vs. UTEP (FCS, 7:00)
Pick: UCF

(19) Louisiana Tech vs. Texas State (Longhorn Network, 7:00)
Pick: Louisiana Tech

UNLV vs. Colorado State (TWC SportsNet & KTVD, 7:00)
Pick: Colorado State

(4) Notre Dame vs. Boston College (ABC, 8:00)
Now I refuse to rule anything out with this Notre Dame club after Saturday, but Boston College blows.
Pick: Notre Dame

Idaho vs. BYU (ESPNU, 10:15)
Pick: BYU

(2) Oregon vs. Cal (ESPN, 10:30)
Pick: Oregon

(17) UCLA vs. Washington State (ESPN2, 10:30)
Pick: UCLA

Utah vs. Washington (Pac-12 Network, 10:30)
Pick: Washington

Fresno State vs. Nevada (NBC Sports Network, 10:30)
I like both of these clubs a lot and we will see a whole lot of offense in Reno. New coach Tim DeRuyter has done a tremendous job with the Bulldogs defense and that will show on Saturday night.
Pick: Fresno State
