2012 College Football Week 8 Picks

It may not be the 80's again but it always is fun when Florida State and Miami go at it. And hopefully the Canes will actually get a crowd for this matchup in Miami Gardens on Saturday night as they look to get a big statement victory in Al Golden's second season at the helm while the 'Noles look to take the ACC and revisit the stadium for the Orange Bowl come January. Who will win at Sun Life? And how about all other games this week?

It's the B-Flo 360 week eight selections.
AP Rankings

Tuesday, October 16th
Louisiana-Lafayette vs. North Texas (ESPN2, 9:00)
Pick: Louisiana-Lafayette

Thursday, October 18th
Houston vs. SMU (FSN, 8:00)
Pick: Houston

(2) Oregon vs. Arizona State (ESPN, 9:00)
I'm sorry, but the Sun Devils have not played anybody this year.
Pick: Oregon

Friday, October 19th
UConn vs. Syracuse (ESPN, 8:00)
Pick: Syracuse

Saturday, October 20th
(6) LSU vs. (20) Texas A&M (ESPN, 12:00)
LSU sure has one hell of a defense but this Johnny Manziel is simply incredible. The Tigers' struggles in throwing the ball will cost them in College Station.
Pick: Texas A&M

Virginia Tech vs. (14) Clemson (ABC/ESPN2, 12:00)
The Hokies rallied to defeat Duke but they do not have the horses that the Tigers have.
Pick: Clemson

Purdue vs. (7) Ohio State (ABC/ESPN2, 12:00)
Pick: Ohio State

Iowa State vs. Oklahoma State (FX, 12:00)
Will the Cyclones haunt Oklahoma State again? I say yes.
Pick: Iowa State

Minnesota vs. Wisconsin (ESPNU, 12:00)
The Golden Gophers are underrated but the Wisconsin offense, and Montee Ball in particular, is like Stella as has gotten its groove back.
Pick: Wisconsin

Auburn vs. Vanderbilt (SEC Network, 12:00)
I have no confidence that Auburn could beat a sneaky Vandy club.
Pick: Vanderbilt

(19) Rutgers vs. Temple (Big East Network, 12:00)
Pick: Rutgers

Northern Illinois vs. Akron (ESPN+, 12:00)
Pick: Northern Illinois

Wake Forest vs. Virginia (ACC Network, 12:30)
Pick: Wake Forest

Florida International vs. Troy (Sun Belt Network, 1:00)
Pick: Troy

Army vs. Eastern Michigan (ESPN3, 1:00)
Pick: Army

San Jose State vs. Texas-San Antonio (ESPN3, 2:00)
Pick: San Jose State

(22) Stanford vs. Cal (FOX, 3:00)
The Big Game is usually fun, but not today as the lack of talent on the Berkeley side will hold them back.
Pick: Stanford

Boston College vs. Georgia Tech (FSN Regional, 3:00)
Pick: Georgia Tech

New Mexico State vs. Utah State (KMYU, 3:00)
Pick: Utah State

(9) South Carolina vs. (3) Florida (CBS, 3:30)
I believe Saturday night's disappointment in Death Valley will give the Gamecocks a good kick in the pants, as I think they are better than the Gators, although the Swamp always plays a factor.
Pick: South Carolina

BYU vs. (5) Notre Dame (NBC, 3:30)
The Fighting Irish better not sleep on the Cougars, who have a quality defense. This could be a trap game, although I've learned to never bet against the Catholics.
Pick: Notre Dame

Nebraska vs. Northwestern (ABC/ESPN2, 3:30)
I think Nebraska will take advantage of their much needed bye week and face off a game NW club.
Pick: Nebraska

(18) Texas Tech vs. TCU (ABC/ESPN2, 3:30)
How good are these clubs? I think the Red Raiders are legitimate but also due for a letdown after the beatdown of West Virginia.
Pick: TCU

South Florida vs. (16) Louisville (ABC, 3:30)
The Cardinals got a much needed comfortable win against Pittsburgh and I'm not convinced that the Bulls are strong enough offensively to hang with them.
Pick: Louisville

(23) Michigan vs. Michigan State (BTN, 3:30)
The Wolverines are looking strong on defense, which is not good news for a Spartans offense that is way too reliant on the run game.
Pick: Michigan

UNLV vs. (24) Boise State (NBC Sports Network, 3:30)
Pick: Boise State

NC State vs. Maryland (ESPNU, 3:30)
I'm really liking this Maryland defense and maybe Randy Edsall has gotten his crap together in College Park.
Pick: Maryland

Rice vs. Tulsa (FSN, 3:30)
Pick: Tulsa

Indiana vs. Navy (CBS Sports Network, 3:30)
This Navy team is really not that good, so this game will be a close one.
Pick: Navy

Pittsburgh vs. Buffalo (ESPN+, 3:30)
Pick: Pittsburgh

Ball State vs. Central Michigan (ESPN+, 4:00)
Pick: Ball State

Louisiana-Monroe vs. Western Kentucky (ESPN3, 4:00)
Heck of a battle in the Sun Belt in Bowling Green. With the way the Hilltoppers run the ball, they'll keep it out of Kolton Browning's hands just enough.
Pick: Western Kentucky

Colorado vs. (11) USC (Pac-12 Network, 6:00)
Lane Kiffin should be fired if the Trojans lose this game.
Pick: USC

(4) Kansas State vs. (17) West Virginia (FOX, 7:00)
This is not a good matchup for West Virginia. Collin Klein and John Hubert will run the ball down the throats of the awful WVU defense and keep the ball out of Geno Smith's hands. Plus, the Wildcats are crafty defensively as well.
Pick: Kansas State

(1) Alabama vs. Tennessee (ESPN, 7:00)
Derek Dooley will single-handedly save his job if he wins this one. But he won't, so there goes that.
Pick: Alabama

Middle Tennessee vs. (15) Mississippi State (ESPN2, 7:00)
Pick: Mississippi State

Kansas vs. (10) Oklahoma (FSN, 7:00)
Pick: Oklahoma

North Carolina vs. Duke (ESPNU, 7:00)
If Sean Renfree plays and it 100%, Duke has a good chance. I don't see both happening, unfortunately.
Pick: North Carolina

(13) Georgia vs. Kentucky (FSN Regional, 7:00)
Pick: Georgia

Marshall vs. Southern Miss (CBS Sports Network, 7:00)
Pick: Marshall

East Carolina vs. UAB (FCS, 7:00)
Pick: East Carolina

New Mexico vs. Air Force (Root Sports Rocky Mountain, 7:00)
Pick: Air Force

Idaho vs. Louisiana Tech (ESPN+, 7:00)
Pick: Louisiana Tech

(21) Cincinnati vs. Toledo (ESPN3, 7:00)
I'm liking what I have been seeing from the Bearcats and I think they keep it up.
Pick: Cincinnati

(12) Florida State vs. Miami (ABC, 8:00)
I love Stephen Morris but the Hurricanes have struggled all season long against very good teams. That will continue.
Pick: Florida State

Baylor vs. Texas (ABC, 8:00)
Texas can't tackle but fortunately for them, Baylor does not have a defense.
Pick: Texas

Penn State vs. Iowa (BTN, 8:00)
Iowa can't throw the ball. Penn State can. Go figure.
Pick: Penn State

Central Florida vs. Memphis (CSS, 8:00)
Pick: Central Florida

Washington vs. Arizona (Pac-12 Network, 10:00)
I think RichRod will get his offense cranked up once again and pull the upset.
Pick: Arizona

Utah vs. (8) Oregon State (ESPN2, 10:30)
The Beavers are pretty damn good, no matter who plays quarterback.
Pick: Oregon State

San Diego State vs. Nevada (CBS Sports Network, 10:30)
Pick: Nevada
