Watch the ridiculous Flyers-Penguins brawl

To say that the Pittsburgh Penguins and the Philadelphia Flyers hate each other would be a tremendous understatement and today's game earlier showed why. Late in the third period in Pittsburgh, with the Flyers well on the way to a victory (final was 6-4) after Flyers center Brayden Schenn laid a cheap shot on Penguins star Sidney Crosby from behind, Pittsburgh center Joe Vitale crunched Flyers center Danny Briere in the open ice which sparked a full-on melee between these two clubs, including Flyers coach Peter Laviolette absolutely losing it, swinging, and breaking, a stick at the Penguins bench and shouting at the coach Dan Bylsma and Pens assistant Tony Granato, right in front of charlatan Pierre McGuire. Let's go to the videotape.

Puck Daddy's Harrison Mooney wrote that 50 minutes of penalties were handed out for that brawl. Both Laviolette and Granato got ejected and we can see why. I mean, this was absolutely ridiculous but crazy things happen when heated rivals hit the ice. Ask the Devils and Rangers. And these two play on Saturday night on NBC Sports Network so will we see more fireworks? How about in the Stanley Cup Playoffs, as the two are seperated by one point for fourth and fifth place, will the hatred spill over come playoff time? Stay tuned, my friends.
