Kentucky defeats Baylor 82-70, advances to 2012 Final Four

Save for an early lead by Baylor in the first half, it was smooth sailing for the top overall seed today in the South regional final in Atlanta as the Kentucky Wildcats defeated the Bears 82-70 to advance to the 2012 Final Four as the overwhelming favorite. The Wildcats got great performances from their stars Michael Kidd-Gilchrist (19 points), Anthony Davis (18 points and 10 boards) who got through a scare when he left the game after banging knees with Perry Jones early in the 2nd half, and a great performance from Terrance Jones who had a double-double and did all the little things brilliantly. The Bears were never in the game save for the early minutes. Now the John Calipari-coached Wildcats head to New Orleans, and a showdown with intrastate rival Louisville in the Final Four, with a great chance to get their first title since 1998.
