Von Miller is the 2011 NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year

The clear strength of the Denver Broncos' defense was their pass rush and it helped defensive coordinator Dennis Allen get a head coaching job. Part of that was due to the return of Elvis Dumervil from injury but a big reason was the second overall draft pick, Von Miller out of Texas A&M. Miller was many times spectular this season for Denver with 11.5 sacks despite missing one game and playing the last four games with a cast protecting his injured right thumb. And thus he is the NFL Associated Press Defensive Rookie of the Year.
