Brady Quinn sounds pretty jealous of Tim Tebow

Michael Silver wrote a piece for GQ about the year it was for Tim Tebow. It's a pretty fascinating oral history about how a guy that completed a horrible 46.5 percent of his passes and has pretty mediocre throwing mechanics can take a team floundering at 1-4 under Kyle Orton take them to a division championship and a victory in the playoffs over the defending AFC champions. Unique stuff.

Now unless you live under a rock, you know that Tebow has his fair share of haters. What you probably do not know is that fellow Broncos quarterback Brady Quinn appears to be one of them, as per the Silver article.

Let's take a look at the quotes from Quinn on Tebow:
Early in the season, there was a game in when Kyle [Orton] got hurt and the coaches were calling for me to go in, but Kyle got up and finished the game out. So I was the second-string guy. Then, a few weeks later, they decided to put Tim in. I felt like the fans had a lot to do with that. Just 'cause they were chanting his name. There was a big calling for him. No, I didn't have any billboards. That would have been nice.
This next quote is in referring to the games in weeks eight and nine against Oakland and Kansas City, both Denver victories.
The entire game, the defensive line is chasing the quarterback around, and that wears down the pass rush. Meanwhile, the defensive backs are chasing receivers, but you only throw eight passes, so they start to fell lazy. It only takes that one play, that one big pass, for a touchdown.
These next two quotes are in reference to that Broncos' great comeback to defeat the Chicago Bears after Chicago has the ball with 2:08 to go up by three.
We've had a lot of, I guess, luck, to put it simply.
If you look at it as a whole, there's a lot of things that just don't seem very humble to me. When I get that opportunity, I'll continue to lead not necessarily by trying to get in front of the camera and praying but by praying with my teammates, you know?
I have a feeling that it is not just me but Quinn definitely sounds jealous of Tebow's success this past season (Quinn is a free agent by the way so no wonder he speaks so freely). I certainly do not think that it's fair to attribute that it was solely the fans that led to Tebow to play, because if it was according to the fans Tebow would have been starting the entire season. And it's certainly not fair for Quinn to say, without actually saying it, that his talent played no part in his success this season rather it was just the defensive linemen getting tired and the defensive backs getting lazy.

And I really do not like what Quinn said about how Tebow prays after the game by himself. Tebow is not looking for the cameras when he prays after the game, the cameras find him. We all know that.

But mostly this is just a guy essentially whining that he never got his shot in Denver.
