Chiefs to Retain Romeo Crennel, Remove Interim Tag

The Kansas City Chiefs have decided to pull the interim tag off of Romeo Crennel, making him the new head coach of the club. Crennel, who took over after Todd Haley was dismissed in mid-December, led the Chiefs to a 2-1 finish, including a shocking upset of the Packers, who were undefeated at the time and was their only loss, in his first game. The Chiefs played much better under Crennel and his easy-going coaching style was a nice change-of-pace for the club following the frantic Haley. This is the correct move in my opinion and he shouldn't have problems with Scott Pioli, the Chiefs' personnel czar, thanks to their connections from back in New England. But one cannot forget Crennel's 24-40 record when coaching in Cleveland.
UPDATE: Crennel signed a three-year deal.
