2011 MLB Postseason: Can the Tigers Force a Game 7?

After a ballsy decision by Detroit Tigers manager Jim Leyland worked out in Detroit's favor in Game 5, the Tigers have forced a game 6 and sends the series back to Arlington as the Texas Rangers have another chance to win the series and head to their second straight World Series? Will they close out the series tonight or will there be a game 7 on Sunday night?

Brandon Marshall is an Ass

The Miami Dolphins are a mess right now. They have yet to win a game in 2011. They just lost their quarterback for the season due to injury and seem so hell-bent on starting Matt Moore, who was god awful last year in Carolina, that they chose not to bring in David Garrard (who wants to start) and instead they signed Sage Rosenfels. The defense has been terrible. It's not a question of if Tony Sparano, who had no job security after his owner, the desperate nerd wanting to be cool Stephen Ross, unsuccessfuly tried to lure Jim Harbaugh to Miami Gardens and then gave Sparano a half-assed contract extension.
And now the club has to deal with wideout Brandon Marshall's inane comments about wanting to get ejected from Monday night's game against the New York Jets in the second quarter.

Can Theo Epstein Be the Guy for the Cubs?

It has been confirmed today that Theo Epstein, General Manager of the Boston Red Sox, has taken over the baseball operations for the Chicago Cubs. Epstein is best known as the guy who helped piece together the Red Sox club that won their first World Series championship in 86 years in 2004, breaking the Curse of the Bambino. They then won another title in 2007. Even with the Red Sox's epic collapse in September of this year and the fact that they've missed the postseason the last two seasons, the 37-year old is considered one of the top minds in baseball. Or at least I think so.
But the Cubs are certainly a different animal, having not won the World Series since 1908 and not even playing in the World Series since 1945. Can Epstein help turn the tide on the North Side (terrible line right there, I apologize)?

Rangers-Tigers Now a Series, 2-1 Texas after Detroit Takes Game 3

Thanks to Doug Fister's tremendous pitching performance in front of the home crowd in game 3 of the ALCS, the Detroit Tigers defeated the Texas Rangers 5-2 Monday night to make the series 2-1 in favor in Texas. And now it appears we have a series.

2011 NFL Week 6 Picks

Well the NFL season keeps on choogling and we have now hit the sixth week. And if you told me that arguably the best game of the week is 49ers-Lions before the season, I would not have believed you for a second (well at least nobody thought San Francisco would be good). Anyways before I start to offend people, here are my week six game predictions.

TCU Accepts Invitation to the Big 12

Gary Patterson and the Horned Frogs of Texas Christian University are heading to the Big 12 starting next year. The Big 12 conference offered TCU a spot in the conference about a week ago, and surprisingly TCU accepted the offer. It's a move that makes total sense for both schools, while hurting another conference that TCU was slated to join next year, the Big East.

Wake Forest Surprising Yet Again

Behind the left arm of quarterback Tanner Price and the coaching of Jim Grobe, the Demon Deacons of Wake Forest are at it again, surprising the college football nation as they now sit at 4-1 after a big time upset of Florida State. Now while I don't think you'll see this team winning the ACC like they did in 2006, they just seem to be the masters of excelling under the radar.

1st Two Weeks of 2011-12 NBA Season Cancelled

Today NBA Commissioner David Stern cancelled the first two weeks of the 2011-12 NBA season as a direct result of the players and the owners failing to reach a new labor deal. As per Stern, the two sides are "very far apart" even after meeting for seven hours today. All games from November 1st to November 14th have been cancelled.
In my opinion, I still think that the entire season will be locked out but I do think there is a greater chance that there will be a 50 game season than there was before the summer. And the league really has terrible timing for a work stoppage with TV ratings up across the board and revenues uo as well. But we shall see what is next in this continuing process.

What is Wrong with the Philadelphia Eagles?

Did anybody think that Andy Reid and the Philadelphia Eagles would be sitting right now at 1-4? Of course nobody, especially not after their impressive offseason haul. Now the team is riding the cellar of the NFC East, a division right now that is anything from a beast. So what's the problem?
