Auburn-Utah State Highlights

Arguably the craziest game of the opening Saturday of the 2011 College Football season thus far was Utah State-Auburn. The Aggies led the defending national champions for most of the game and after executing a fake field goal on fourth down and then scoring a touchdown to go up 38-28 with about four minutes to go, Auburn scored a pair of touchdowns, the go ahead touchdown enabled by one of the best onside kick recoveries you will see in a while, to win 42-38. Here are the highlights from the zany game today at Jordan-Hare Stadium.

Could Brad Keselowski Win the Chase?

No driver has been hotter over the last four races in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series than Brad Keselowski. He has not finished lower than third in any of the four races and has won twice. All of this with a broken ankle and he has jumped ten spots in the points standings. But could he actually win the series title?

Watch Bruce Feldman Destroy ESPN

Well after the absurd, disgusting, disgraceful episode of #freebruce in which respected ESPN writer Bruce Feldman was suspended, ESPN says he wasn't but we all know that's crap, for co-writing the Mike Leach book, which ESPN did approve, that displayed the great lengths Craig James went to disparage Leach as a result of the Adam James fiasco, Feldman has now left the self-proclaimed Worldwide Leader for CBSSports.com. He gave an interview to the Dan Patrick Show and promptly exposed what really happened. Let's go to the videotape.

Why Hope Solo Is The Next Face of Women's Soccer

Women's soccer in the United States has been lacking that signature star to market the sport with since Mia Hamm retired in 2004. Let's be fair, how many female soccer players can you name, with the exception of Hamm and possibly Brandi Chastain, both of whom have been retired for years now. But after the team's run to the 2011 World Cup Finals where they lost to Japan in an epic final, there is a new face of women's soccer in this country and her name is Hope Solo.

Tim Brando Disco Dancing...I Kid You Not

So I found a couple of promos for the simulcast of the popular Tim Brando Show on CBS Sports Network and they both feature Brando, a well known broadcaster for CBS Sports, disco dancing. One is slightly longer and features some other humorous stuff. But the disco dancing is epic. To the videotape.

This is why I love America.

May David Kahn Be Doing Something Right?

It's pretty easy to hate on Timberwolves President David Kahn, the man just seems to f*** up everything. He struggled to fire his incompetent coach and left him lingering for a month. But the man seems on the verge of making a very strong move and I have to give him props. What could he have possibly done to actually get some praise, at least from me? Continue reading and you'll find out.
UPDATE: Looks like David Kahn finally did something right.

Should Pitchers Win MVP?

I've tackled another MVP debate so here I'll tackle another one. A pitcher has not won Most Valuable Player in either league since Dennis Eckersley took the AL MVP award in 1992 (last NL MVP that was a pitcher was Bob Gibson back in the year of the pitcher in 1968). Tigers' ace Justin Verlander has been tossed around as a potential MVP candidate as he has had an awesome 2011 and is leading his club towards the postseason. But should he even be eligible for the award?

Brian Kenny's Greatest Moment at ESPN

One of my favorite ESPN  personalities is headed elsewhere, likely to MLB Network, and Brian Kenny will host his final SportsCenter this month. Here's his greatest moment at the supposed Worldwide Leader.

Arian Foster Says What We've All Been Dying To Say

Texans running back Arian Foster left the preseason game against the San Francisco 49ers with a pulled hamstring. He then took to Twitter and said that he's doing all right and that he is planning to be back for the season opener against the Indianapolis Colts. He then chastised people that care about his injury only for their fantasy football team. He immediately responded to his original tweet criticizing the fact that all people care about is the fantasy impact of injuries and, even as a fantasy football player, I think he's absolutely correct.
So then President of the ESPN Asshole Brigade Colin Cowherd responded in the typical way you would expect him to, trying to be funny but just coming off as a douchebag. Here's his tweet.
Foster then responds in one of the greatest tweets ever and a win for people that know something about sports. Let's take a look.

2011 College Football Week 1 Picks

Does the MVP Have To Be On a Winning Team?

What determines who should win the Most Valuable Player awards in both the American and National Leagues is always of debate but it seems that one of the qualifications is that those in the running should be on a playoff team. If that would be the case, then the two best players in baseball would be out of the running in Jose Bautista and Matt Kemp.
