The first event of the 2011 NASCAR season saw a driver actually disqualified for making an illegal pass and another driver was credited with the win. Denny Hamlin crossed the finish line first but since he passed Kurt Busch below the yellow line he was black flagged and Busch was named the winner as Hamlin finished in 12th.
It was the first event at Daytona International Speedway following the repaving of the surface and the cars on the track were moving at incredibly fast speeds, some even hit 206 mph. Cars were spread out around the track in packs of two, a major difference than the huge packs we've seen at the plate tracks before.
Check out the highlights from the 2011 Bud Shootout.

Blake Griffin Better Get Out Of J.J. Hickson's House
We all know that the Cleveland Cavaliers finally ended their 26 game losing streak to the Los Angeles Clippers last night in overtime. We also know that this blog has been in awe of Blake Griffin this season (just put his name in the search bar to the right). But I hope he knows to never go to J.J. Hickson's house again as Hickson did what so many have been unable to do and stop a Griffin dunk. To the videotape.

Great Moments From Awful Players: Dan Gadzuric
You know UCLA has got a great tradition of big men who have played for the Bruins. Lew Alcindor. Bill Walton. Dan Gadzuric. Actually no on the last one because Gadzuric is just awful (just ask Stu Lantz). But one day against the Oklahoma City Thunder, Gadzuric had such a powerful dunk it's featured on Great Moments from Awful Players. Enjoy.

Super Bowl XLV Ratings
You could say that the NFL and Fox got what they wanted out of Super Bowl XLV, as it was the most watched television program in US history. It averaged 111 million viewers which beat the previous record holder, Super Bowl XLIV, by five million viewers. It had a total viewership of 162.9 million viewers and had a 46 rating with a 69 share. It was the fourth straight Super Bowl to set the record for most watched program and the primetime audience cracked 100 million for the first time in history. Wow.
Here's the press release.

Mike Munchak Named Tennessee Titans Head Coach
Following the bizarre firing/dismissal/resignation of Jeff Fisher, the Tennessee Titans have named offensive line coach Mike Munchak as the new head coach. Munchak has served as offensive line coach since 1997 and also was a Hall of Fame guard for the club when they were the Houston Oilers and made part of one of the best offensive line tandems in history with Bruce Matthews, a fellow Hall of Famer.
