Jim Harbaugh To Be The Next Coach Of The 49ers

Now here is a surprise. Jim Harbaugh, head coach of the Stanford Cardinal who turned that program into an Orange Bowl champion, is heading across the bay to become the head coach of the San Francisco 49ers.  Almost everybody had thought that Harbaugh would return to Stanford since Andrew Luck decided to return to Palo Alto and the fact that the Dolphins deal fell apart.

New York Yankees Should Sign Rafael Soriano

It would take a nice chunk of change to bring him in but due to the seemingly lack of interest in him, the New York Yankees should sign reliever Rafael Soriano, formerly the closer of the Tampa Bay Rays, to create the top back-end of any bullpen in major league baseball.

2011 NFL Mock Draft, 1st Edition

With today's big news, the 2011 NFL Draft has been scrambled. The man who the Carolina Panthers were going to take has chosen to not declare for the draft. So who will the Panthers take at the number one pick? And who will the rest of the NFL take as a result?
It's time for my first 2011 NFL Mock Draft, using only the non-playoff teams.

It has already been announced that FOX will televise the Big Ten Championship Game from 2011-2016. Andrew Luck To Return To Stanford

Andrew Luck has just made one of the biggest mistakes he could ever make, returning to college despite being the consensus number one draft pick in the 2011 NFL Draft if he chose to leave Stanford. Unfortunately he didn't and now not only the Panthers are screwed, he's making a grave mistake.

Vince Young Will Not Be A Tennessee Titan Next Year, Jeff Fisher Likely Will

In what qualifies as yet another surprise, Tennessee Titans owner Bud Adams has made the decision that Vince Young will not be a Tennessee Titan next season. That also means that coach Jeff Fisher likely will be back next season but that is not a certainty. But this, in what has been an offseason headlined by terrible owners (cough Mike Brown, cough Al Davis) this was the right move for Adams, who had been thought to side with Young all along.

Alomar, Blyleven Elected To Baseball Hall Of Fame

The two newest editions to the Baseball Hall of Fame are legendary second baseman Roberto Alomar and pitching great Bert Blyleven. This time both were easily elected to the Hall after both were narrow misses last year. Alomar was picked on 90 percent of the ballots by the Baseball Writers’ Association of America on his second year on the ballot. Blyleven was picked on 79.7 percent—it takes 75 percent to be elected to Cooperstown. This was his 14th time on the ballot.

Raiders Cut Loose Tom Cable

Despite the fact that his club finished .500 for the first time since going to the Super Bowl after the 2002 season. Despite the fact that his club won every game in the AFC West this season, a rare occurrence that can only be applauded. Tom Cable did not have his contract renewed the Oakland Raiders, likely to pave way for highly-regarded offensive coordinator Hue Jackson to take over. And Shane Lechler is not happy about it.

The University of Michigan has fired head football coach Rich Rodriguez following a tenure filled with mediocrity on the football and controversy off itRodriguez was 15-22 overall during his Michigan tenure and just 1-10 against ranked opponents. Leslie Frazier Named Vikings Head Coach

The Minnesota Vikings have chosen to pull the interim tag off of Leslie Frazier and have unsurprisingly decided to name Frazier as the new head coach of the club. Frazier was previously the defensive coordinator and was named the interim coach after Brad Childress was fired on November 22nd. The club was 3-3 under Frazier as the head coach but Frazier has always been highly regard across the NFL and this is a great hire for Minnesota.

Jason Garrett Hired As Head Coach Of The Dallas Cowboys

Interim Dallas Cowboys head coach Jason Garrett will be the coach of the Cowboys next season. Despite the fact that he was mad as hell after his club's embarrassing loss to the Arizona Cardinals on Christmas, owner Jerry Jones has decided to make Garrett the full time head coach beginning next season.
