2011 MLB Postseason: Texas Rangers Advance to the 2011 ALCS

The Texas Rangers have advanced to the American League Championship Series for the second year in a row after they defeated the Tampa Bay Rays today in game 4 of the American League Division Series, 4-3. Ian Kinsler opened the game with a solo shot for Texas and Adrian Beltre hit three homers of his own. The Rangers scored three of their runs against Tampa rookie starter Jeremy Hellickson, who was charged with the loss (the fourth homer came off of reliever Matt Moore). Matt Harrison was the winner today after he pitched five solid innings, only allowing two runs. Closer Neftali Feliz allowed one run in the ninth but got Rays rookie outfielder Desmond Jennings to hit a grounder to shortstop Elvis Andrus, who tossed the rock to Kinsler for the final out of the game. The ALCS begins on Saturday and the Rangers will face either the Detroit Tigers.
